Todd Gurley Dynasty Trade

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

What would you rather have?

Todd Gurley Dynasty Trade

Postby LMS123 » Fri Dec 28, 2018 8:55 pm

12 team PPR Dynasty League with 30 man rosters

Should I trade Todd Gurley and the 2019 1.10 rookie pick for Joe Mixon, Sony Michel, and the 2019 1.05 rookie pick?

It really improves my depth at rb and Mixon is still a difference maker, while with the 1.05 I could get a nice wr to complete my trio with Diggs and Davis. But at the same time, its tough to trade Gurley.

Obviously things can change season to season but Gurley scored more than Mixon and Sony combined. So you're actually losing points, at least you would have this year. Gurley side for me.

Without my homework done on what the value difference is between 5 and 10 this year, I say no dice right now. Gurley is a league winner, and while I love Mixon and Michel they don’t quite have that distinction yet.

I can't get behind this. You'd be shipping Gurley for two backs with significant red flags (character concern and team trajectory/bone on bone knee and also team trajectory) and a slight pick upgrade. Maybe if he'd let you keep the late first, I could see it if you've fallen in love with a rookie at 1.5. You need to hit on 2 of the 3 to win the trade.

I’ll echo what’s above. I’m not making that trade with the 1.10 on your side, most likely wouldn’t make it without the 1.10 on your side, and call me crazy but may not even make it if the 1.10 were on the other side.

If you take out the 1.10 from your side its not a bad trade. Instantly gives you two very viable Rb's with room for improvement and you would be able to draft 2 really great WR prospects or 1 Wr prospect and one of the top 4 RB prospects. Despite what people are trying to make this rookie class out to be I believe there are 4-5 great WR prospects and 3-4 great RB prospects so the 1.10 could end up being very valuable.

It always sucks to lose Gurley but he's at his absolute peak this year. Even if he continues to be top 3 in scoring his age factor will catch up to his value. Turning him into another top 10 Rb and a top 15 with upside plus a top 5 rookie pick isn't a bad haul at all. Just don't add the 1.10 to the deal.

I appreciate the input everyone. First I need to make a correction; the pick I'd get back is the 1.04 not 1.05. Now, I'm that guy in leagues who will flip great players for pieces I think will end up helping my team more in the long run. My thought process was similar that which Titans95 mentioned. Gurley's value is at its peak and I need wr help and believe that Mixon will be a top 5-8 rb for years and that Michel can be a contributor. What I ended up offering was:

Give
Gurley and Trey Burton

Receive:
Mixon, Michel, the 2019 1.04 and a 2020 1st from the team that "earned" the 1.04 this year.

*The other team's current TE's are Lance Kendricks, Jeff Swain, Greg Olsen, and Adam Shaheen; since my TE's are solid I threw Burton in with the thought that they's find having Shaheen and Burton an improvement*
Jake Fromm State Farm (12 team PPR SF)
QB: Purdy, ARich (TS), Levis (TS), Bagent, Hall, Rudolph, Fromm
RB: Roschon (TS), Allgeier, Hill, Demercado, McLaughlin, Mitchell, K. Harris, E. Wilson
WR: Addison, London, Jmo, Shaheed, Reed (TS), Pop D, Iosivas, C. Jones, Mooney, T. Palmer, Scott, Tucker, Austin, Gipson, Melton,
TE: Musgrave, Mayer (TS), Trautman, Gray, Jordan
2024: 1.01, 1.07, 2.04, 2.10, 2.11, 3.01, 3.06, 3.07, 3.11

Probably an overpayment with the 2020 1st included, keep us posted!

yea likely is with the 2020 but figured id send it and see what response I get then go from there; you can always take pieces away in a trade but can't add so I like to start big then negotiate down. Will do for sure though, like I said I appreciate the input!

I’ll go as far as to say - even if the 1.10 was SWAPPED and added onto the other side, it wouldn’t be an easy decision if I’m selling gurley.

My vote is to keep Gurley. He is as close to untouchable as it gets and if I was an owner the return would have to be unbelievable. This return is not unbelievable and frankly, I think you're getting ripped off.

I would keep Gurley here. Not a bad offer but not enough in my opinion. Outside of a monster offer, I see no reason to move Gurley
