Tyreek Hill

Postby block2323 » Thu Dec 06, 2018 7:30 am

Currently looking to contend and need a WR after losing sanders (most of the top WRs are owned by playoff teams who won't trade). I tried offering kupp+++ in a deal but he wasn't really interested so we landed on the following (all players would be keepers for him). Thoughts on if this trade is fair or not.

I give:
George Kittle
Golden Tate
Ingram
Antonio Callaway
2019 1st (mid-late) - another teams
2019 2.04

I get:
Tyreek Hill
2019 4.05
2019 6.05
12 Team, .5 PPR, 9 Keepers, 21 Man Roster + 2 IR Spots
Start: 1QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 Flex, 1 TE, 1K, 1 Def

QB: T. Brady
RB: D. Johnson, N. Chubb, L. Fournette, C. Hyde, I. Smith, M. Davis
WR: OBJ, T. Hill, K. Allen, C. Kupp, D. Pettis, E. Sanders, D. Hamilton, R. Foster, J. Crowder, T. Patrick
TE: O. Howard, D. Goedert, C. Herndon
Def: Jax
K:

2019: 1.02, 2.01, 2.09, 3.02, 4.03, 4.05, 4.12
2020: 1st (x2), 2nd (x1), 3rd (x1), 4th (x2)

Is he competing?
If he is I can see him taking that but if he's not Tate and Ingram won't hold a ton of value to him honestly
Either way I'd rather have Tyreek side

As a Tyreek Hill owner, this offer would not interest me at all. I see Kittle, a mid to late 1st, and a bunch of junk. If you can get this deal done, then good for you, but I doubt this is close.

I'm a big fan of Kittle, but Tate and Ingram are fairly worthless relative to the other players here. It's a fair opening offer, but as a Hill owner, I would want more. If I were him looking at your roster, I'd counter with Kittle + both your 2019 1sts + 2.04.

I'd disagree with this assessment. I value Kittle as an early 1st.

I'd disagree with this assessment. I value Kittle as an early 1st.

This is how I feel, I am a big Kittle fan and he is the most valuable piece that I would be sending over. I think the remaining pieces more than make up the gap for the 2nd early first. Personally I like the idea of receiving some proven talent and draft picks if I'm moving a stud which is what I think this provides to the other team.

It seems like most people's views of this trade come down to their assessment of Kittle, who I think is a top 3 tight end moving forward. I have him after Ertz/Kelce for now with the ability to surpass them in the next couple of years (Kittle is in his 2nd year, has played with mainly backup QBs his first 2 years in the league and despite that is still on pace to have almost 1,200 yards receiving which would outdo Kelce and Ertzs best years prior to this year). The biggest difference is that Kittle has done this without a starting QB and is only 25 years old compared to 28 for Ertz and 29 for Kelce.

For those of you that are not that high on Kittle, I think your perception will change moving forward especially when we see him play with Jimmy G for a couple of years!

I own Kittle and Tyreek Hill, the two main pieces in this deal. I am high on both. I agree with your assessment of Kittle. No way do I trade Hill for what you are offering. You are selling Hill short. He is younger than Kittle and putting up way more points than Kittle. A late 1st and a couple of junk players do not bridge that gap at all.

But like I said, if you can get the other owner to go for it, more power to you. But I doubt it works.

I think its a good opener. It probably wont get accepted but should start a dialogue or at the very least a counter. As a Hill owner who is competing. I'd be thinking about it.
Team 1 - 12 Team PPR - 1 QB - 2-5 RBs - 3-6 WRs - 1-4 TEs
QB - Cousins.K - Roethlisberger.B - Case.K -
RB - Gurley.T - Peterson.A - Edwards.G - Howard.J - Miller.L - Wilson.J - Blount.L - Burkhead.R - Lynch.M - Howell.B - Ridely.S
WR - Jones.J - Hill.T - Crabtree.M - Enunwa.Q - Roberts.S - Hurns.A - Nelson.J - Dorsett.P - Watson.J - Pascal.Z - Sherfield.T
TE - Ertz.Z - MacDonald.V - Harris.D

2019 Picks
2.12 - 3.12 - 4.12
2020 Picks
1st - 2nd - 3rd - 4th

That's fair, everyone has their own opinions but I don't think you should be looking at just total points scored when you compare the players. You should be looking at positional advantages imo and the positional advantage of having a top tight end is just as valuable as having a top WR imo. Hill is averaging 19.1 PPG in .5 ppr and the 12 ranked WR M. Evans is averaging 14.3 (4.8 PPG drop off) and 24th ranked is AJG at 10.5 (8.6 PPG drop off)...using your method of matching points Kittle would be worth Golden Tate who is averaging 11.8 PPG...who you claim is worthless lol.

George Kittle is in his 2nd year averaging 11.8ppg with the 12th ranked TE V. MacDonald averaging 6.9 PPG (4.9 PPG drop off) and the 24th ranked TE averaging 4.5 (7.3 PPG drop off) with the positional advantage gained by Kittle vs the 12th ranked TE being essentially equal to that of Hill and Mike Evans.

The cop out is always check out the total points when different positions score vastly different points. No one is saying Mahomes is more valuable than Gurley/Saquon/Hill because he scores more points in a 1QB league are they? If so, I guess I play in a very different league. Also as someone who owned Hunt this year...tyreek doesn't come with his own set of risks with off field issues. I love tyreek but dude has risks just like every other player in the league.

You might want to check the league requirements and see that they differ greatly from your own...it's a 12 team league where we start 3 WRs vs your 10 team league where you start 2...meaning in your league only 20 WRs are starting vs ours where 36 are starting on any given week. Obviously our starting requirements/depth come into greater play than they do in a 10 team league so you might want to take these into account before offering your advice and calling players junk/trash.

It's a 9 keeper league which places an even higher premium on studs. You start 3 WRs and only 1 TE. So based on YOUR setup Hill >>>> Kittle. Your opening offer might get talks started but imo it isn't close to getting Hill.
