Cooper....what if
Re: Cooper....what if
I don't honestly understand the hatred of Cooper.... In his worst year, WORST, he went 48/680/7 and missed three games. For those of you not good at math, that means 33% of Derek Carr's TD's went to Cooper. And don't fool yourself, Cooper made Crabtree better, not the other way around......

Re: Cooper....what if
but 80% of his production comes in 20% of his games!
Re: Cooper....what if
I just refuse to believe a guy who had back to back 1,000 yard seasons, fell off in the summer one year...
Guy gets 17 points against the Titans, everyone still thinks he sucks LOL.

Re: Cooper....what if
So far this year, he's got 2 TDs. What percentage of his QBs TDs is that? The problem with Cooper is that instead of improving like most players do, he's seemed to regress every year. His rookie and sophomore years were fairly close, but then regressed huge last year and hasn't done a whole lot this year either. I think the "hate" is pretty fair at this point. He's obviously still young and might bounce back, but I don't blame anyone for jumping that ship and moving him for more consistency.GrannyApples2018 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 08, 2018 10:19 amI don't honestly understand the hatred of Cooper.... Re: Cooper....what if
the thing is he'll get about 7 total points in the next 2 or 3 games, than hit a big one for 25 points, then another string of duds.GrannyApples2018 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 08, 2018 10:27 amI just refuse to believe a guy who had back to back 1,000 yard seasons, fell off in the summer one year...

he's always done that, even when he got 1000 in a season (I know I'm exaggerating, but that's the trend)
Re: Cooper....what if
That's his issue. His 1,000 yard seasons were more like 10 points then a 40 sprinkled in, but still inconsistent.killer_of_giants wrote: ↑Thu Nov 08, 2018 10:47 amthe thing is he'll get about 7 total points in the next 2 or 3 games, than hit a big one for 25 points, then another string of duds.GrannyApples2018 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 08, 2018 10:27 amI just refuse to believe a guy who had back to back 1,000 yard seasons, fell off in the summer one year...

I'm hoping they keep force feeding him in Dallas.

Re: Cooper....what if
I think the games of Cooper getting less than 5 targets are going to be very rare moving forward. Out of the 6 games he played in OAK this year his targets per game were 3, 10, 5, 11, 1, 1. He actually has a 69% catch rate on the year. I really think his buy low window is going to close pretty quickly.
Re: Cooper....what if
Totally agree, Oddball. Even last year, less than half his games he was targeted more than 5 times... FIVE TIMES. 2016 he was targeted 6 times or more in 12 games... If you can buy low, buy low, and quite frankly, if you can buy low you're probably getting a steal.Oddball456 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 08, 2018 12:18 pmI think the games of Cooper getting less than 5 targets are going to be very rare moving forward. Re: Cooper....what if
yeah, it's not like the cowboys are a run-first team with an over-hyped running QB...
Re: Cooper....what if
It comes down to two quality years to start his career. His third year he was injured and his play dropped off. This season the entire team (actually entire organization) in Oakland took a HUGE step backwards. So he went from a highly dysfunctional organization to a little less dysfunctional organization, but he has a rb to take the pressure off. He’s a polarizing player that a bunch believe he’s a flop and a bunch believe he will turn it around. I’m still holding out hope for him that he and Dak can turn it around.

Re: Cooper....what if
Well said, I'm in the turn it around camp. Does that mean stud WR? No. But he can be a solid WR2 if they figure it out. If he gets 4-5 catches a game, I think he's at least a back end WR2dblj1199 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 08, 2018 1:32 pmIt comes down to two quality years to start his career. Cooper Trending up #AmIRite?!
Re: Cooper....what if
I think everyone is going to try and sell high if that happens, and all the buyers are going to know that his owners are trying to sell high.
He's already had two big blow-up games this year and no one was calling him a "top young WR" again after those.
