Would you buy into James Conner as an RB1 in 2019-2020?
Would you buy into James Conner as an RB1 in 2019-2020?
Would you buy into James Conner as a fantasy RB1 (top 12) in half ppr from 2019-2020? One of the elite teams in my league has him for $5 next year and I’m thinking of offering up Melvin Gordon (can’t keep him) for Conner once Bell gets back. I’m just worried that he could be Spencer Ware from 2016 2.0. What are people’s thoughts?
Re: Would you buy into James Conner as an RB1 in 2019-2020?
I would not make that trade, I'm sure you could get something of a more for sure from a contending team that hoping Connor is the guy next season.
its to much risk at hand tbh.

Re: Would you buy into James Conner as an RB1 in 2019-2020?
I wouldn't. If you're not contending then hold out for more from a contender. If you are then hold him (I'd only deal in that scenario if I got an offer at close to full dynasty value).

Re: Would you buy into James Conner as an RB1 in 2019-2020?
In many salary cap leagues, you're not going to get an elite player on a cheap contract in return for any player on an expiring one. At best, you'll get a decent player on a cheap contract or an elite player on an expensive contract who is injured for this year.
Weighing those options against Conner, and the cheap contract of Conner looks like a palatable gamble. I'd rather take that gamble than a lesser RB with limited upside buy a higher ceiling. If you think that you can maybe get more later for Gordon in the event of an injury to someone else, then I could see hanging on. But, this is really the type of return that is great in a contract league -- plus it gives you extra money (presuming that Gordon is far more than $5) to play with right now. I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss this offer, and I might even just take it now. I'd feel better if there were a secondary piece that could be added.
But, yeah, it's an attractive one... Hell, I just typed myself into it!

Re: Would you buy into James Conner as an RB1 in 2019-2020?
Okay. Thinking of targeting Guice at $7 instead then. Thoughts on that versus Conner? In regards to dynasty trades, there are three far superior teams to the rest in my league. If any one of the three got Gordon they'd almost certainly win the league this year, and none of the three have won yet and all have solid keepers so I think I should be able to get massive keeper value if I sold Gordon before the trade deadline.
Re: Would you buy into James Conner as an RB1 in 2019-2020?
I'd rather have guice at 7 than Connor at 5
Re: Would you buy into James Conner as an RB1 in 2019-2020?
If you can get it and you aren't contending, then yes selling for Guice at $7 makes a ton of sense.

Re: Would you buy into James Conner as an RB1 in 2019-2020?
Thing is I’m kinda contending at 3-2 but there are three teams with 4-5 RB1/WR1s, and all I have is Corey Davis TY Amari Mahomes Ridley Melvin Gordon Aaron Jones Rams D Kenyan Drake Corey Clement. So realistically I think my best bet is to make my team a powerhouse next year unless I manage to snag a waiver wire stud before the trade deadline.

Wait until closer to your trade deadline then. Or, let your league know you want a piece for next year and you are willing to send out Gordon to make it happen.ajf235 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 12, 2018 12:18 pm Thing is I’m kinda contending at 3-2 but there are three teams with 4-5 RB1/WR1s, and all I have is Corey Davis TY Amari Mahomes Ridley Melvin Gordon Aaron Jones Rams D Kenyan Drake Corey Clement.
