Someone is interested in Rivers

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Someone is interested in Rivers

Postby hudini33 » Tue Sep 25, 2018 9:59 am

For team 1 in sig.

The other owner is also 3-0 and in my division. He just lost Jimmy G and has only Mariota on his roster. He asked me what it would take to get Rivers, so naturally I told him to make an offer.

Basically, I want to know what this forum would be looking for in a return for Phil Rivers.

Thoughts, comments, questions are all appreciated.

Unless you can get a mid 2nd or better for him, which seems unlikely, you’re probably better off just keeping him on your roster and away from your competition. I’m not even sure Ryan will be the better option ROS, and if something happens to him, you’d be in the same boat as the guy approaching you, except actually worse, because you’d be relying on Allen rather than Mariota.
Both are 12-team 1QB PPR dynasties

That's kind of what I was thinking. I didn't know if it would make sense to well one and upgrade something

Agree. I was pretty much going to say take a 2nd and run. If that's not an option, I'd hold him as you might end up needing him this year.

What if I can get someone like Kittle for him?

Kittle is worth much more than a random 2nd, so I'd take that immediately.

Yeah, I’d take Kittle for sure. But I would at least try to shop Allen first after his big game on Sunday. Even if you had to add a 3rd to Allen for Kittle, I’d like that a lot more than giving Rivers straight up.

I wouldn’t want to sell him to a direct competitor. I’m on board with the Kittle move though.
