Trade fairness - Trade REJECTED by league

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

How would you rate this trade?

Re: Trade fairness - need a ruling

Postby Shcritters » Tue Sep 11, 2018 10:40 am

Reporting the facts. The league just voted to overturn this trade. This is after we just voted this year to approve the rule change below (approved 11 to 1). Looking forward to the comments to follow. :)

Regarding Trading, change FROM League Approval TO League Review along with the following change (keeping in mind that we have never rejected a trade in the history of the league):

FROM
All trades are subject to league approval. The league commissioner is responsible for notifying the league of proposed trades. Once a trade has been proposed to the league, all league owners have 48 hours to reject the trade by voting to reject the trade on MFL. If two-thirds of the league rejects the trade, MFL will inform the involved teams of the leagues decision to reject the trade.

TO
The league assumes that each owner is acting in the best interest of his/her own franchise. Collusion with another franchise is strictly prohibited. All trades are executed immediately upon agreement by the involved franchises but are subject to league review. Each owner is responsible for being informed of trading within the league as posted on MFL. Once a trade has been consummated, all league owners have 96 hours to review the trade and object to the trade on the grounds of collusion by posting on the League Message Board to time-stamp their objection. If an owner objects to an executed trade, the owners will be polled: trades will be reversed with a 2/3s majority vote (i.e. 8 owners in agreement). If a trade is reversed and this process occurs over the same time in which NFL games are played, the players involved in the trade will become ineligible for play in a starting lineup; if any players involved in the trade were submitted as part of a starting lineup, their Fantasy points for the week are nullified.

So you need the league to explain what they thought the collusion was....

If they can't and they don't allow the trade I'd quit the league. So unless there was some form of collusion this is major bs and violation of the league rules

Well the new rules are better, but can be abused. It should be changed that clear evidence of collusion need to be shown. An unbalanced trade is inherently not proof.

Furthermore if players scores are invalidated owners have incentive to collude with each other to veto the trade to invalidated opponents players.

That being said, rules clearly states that owners ha e to atate reason for collusion. Was this done?

Also, I hope Rodgers doesn't miss time with the injury

Vetoes are garbage. I would have left the league as soon as the rule was implemented, if not when it was even considered.
