Considering a DJ trade

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Considering a DJ trade

Postby notweswelker » Sun Sep 02, 2018 1:06 pm

For team in sig...Owner who has a good team but needs a RB to put him over the top reached out to me for DJ(he just lost Mckinnon for year).

I am pretty comfortable at rb with Barkley/Gurley/Ajayi/KJ/Breida/Carson & Aaron Jones

Two pieces I'd be asking for in return are Guice and Baker Mayfield.
My question is, would you guys do that? Should I ask for more? Or should I simply hold DJ for the run this season.

Other pieces he has that I'm interested in: Keelan Cole/ James Conner / all his picks next season.

I’d ask for slightly more. Have to get a proven piece when moving an elite player like DJ

I would keep DJ. If you made the move you propose that looks like a rebuilding type of move while you seem probable to make a run. Neither guy would help you this year. Same with Conner/Cole/picks.

Get a stud WR out of the deal or keep DJ.

Keeping DJ. Are you concerned about injury or age? I don't see any reason to make this move. Makes no sense to me.

Would not move DJ. And if you did, you should get more. Guice, Mayfield, and a rookie WR or proven flex option.

QB: Brees, Cousins
RB: McCaffery, Guice, D Williams, Breida, Drake, Penny, S Ware, R Jones, J Adams, I Smith

I guess for me I'm always trying to get one step better, regardless of if my roster looks set or not.
My thinking was Baker could soon be a top 5 dynasty qb and Guice has a ton of potential I don't necessarily need this season. But I appreciate everyone's views, it looks like I am reaching here.

As a DJ owner I would not consider moving him for two rookies who I will possibly not play at all this year either,Guice for sure won’t . I would want a couple of solid veterans in return with even some future picks

Keep DJ. He will be a work horse this year. Gurley and DJ as your RBs will make you very tough to beat. Only way you should consider trading him is to improve at WR. Also the rookies that you are targeting aren't going to really rise much in value this year so you'll most likely still be able to get them for DJ next year anyways. and it's a 10 team league... Stick with the stud. Go back and watch DJs highlights from 2 years ago... You will be wondering why you ever thought of trading him
12 team ppr contract league. 25 man roster with 7 player taxi squad. 85 year contract limit
QB/RB/RB/WR/WR/WR/TE/K/DEF

QB- Wilson (1) Tanehill (1) Jimmy G (3)
RB - Gibson (6) Mixon (2) Ekeler (1) J White (1)
WR -Tyreek(1), Ridley (3), K Allen (4), Fuller (2), Lazard (3)
TE - Ertz (4) Goedert(4), Irv Smith Jr(6)

PS - Jordan Love, Gabe Davis, Darnell Mooney

That trade makes your team worse and helps out a rival. You have 2 of the top 4 RBs by anybody’s rankings. Maybe move DJ in the offseason but right now, youre set up to win a few in a row with that roster.
