Melvin Vs Adams

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Melvin Vs Adams

Postby pack4ever22 » Wed Aug 15, 2018 7:59 am

Been a while since I've posted on these forums but really need a 2nd opinion on this one.

For a championship team full ppr, 2RB 2WR 3FLEX I have been offered the following:

Devante Adams, Geronimo Allison, John Kelly, 2nd
for
Melvin Gordon, Kalen Ballage

My Roster is

Cam, Alex Smith
Gurley, David Johnson, Kamara, Melvin, Dion Lewis, Cohen, Ballage
Hopkins, DT, Josh Gordon, Godwin, Golladay, John Brown, Anthony Miller, Dante Pettis
Kelce, OJ Howard

I'm tempted because I would like to strengthen my WR position but with the flexibility of our starting requirements I really don't see it as a huge issue, meanwhile its going to be a lot of fun trotting out my top four RBs on a weekly basis. Its tough for me because I do really like both players.

Adams and Gordon are close for me. I think I'd rather have the 2nd alone over Ballage.

I’m huge on Adams and I believe he’ll jump into top 5 WR rank this year. So it’s a massive win imo.

It also makes sense for your team Given your strength at RB
12 Team 1 pt PPR
1QB 2RB 2WR 1TE 3Flex 1K
QB Stroud Tua
RB Bijan, Gibbs, Jamaal, CEH, Allgeier, Brown
WR Hill, JJ, AJB, Keenan, ReedReed, Thielen, Boyd, Iosivas, Tucker
TE Hockenson Ferguson,
K Elliot
1DT 2DE 3LB 1CB 2S 1Flex
DT Donald Zach Allen
DE Crosby, Van Ness, Turner, Wonnum,
LB Greenlaw, Kendricks, Bernard, Mosley, McFadden, Barton, Overshown, Cashman, Henley
CB Stream
S Bynum, Blankenship fuller, grant,
2024 - 1.03, 3.05, 3.12, 6th
2025 2, 3,4,5,6

Adams is an instant starter and will be more relevant for longer than Gordon will, Gordon is your RB4....trading a bench player for a stud starter is always a good idea.

Not a bench player. Our starting requirements allow me to start up to 5 rbs on a weekly basis, and I did so regularly last year.

That end piece makes the trade for me too.
