Rookie Draft Help....

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Rookie Draft Help....

Postby HWfloss » Sun Aug 12, 2018 11:55 am

I have a late rookie draft coming up in a week and just made a trade which included getting the 1.02, and I already had the 1.06. I'm pretty set at WR IMO, so will be looking to add 2 rbs. Based on previous drafts in this league, I think there is a great chance Guice is still there at 1.06. My initial thought was to take Chubb at the 1.02, and Guice at the 1.06 assuming he's there. I am however 1 of only 3 or 4 teams in this league that have a realistic shot at a title, so with Chubb likely in a time share this year, and Guice out, I'm reconsidering that strategy to maybe add an RB with a better likelihood of immediate production. My best guess is that Barkely/Chubb/Penny/Moore/ will be gone by the 1.06, and obviously 1 other which will be a bit of a crap shoot. All thoughts appreciated, Thanks.

League setup: 12 team, 1qb/2rb/3wr/1te/1FLX(rb/wr), ppr for wr/te, .6ppr for rb

Current squad:
QB- Brees/Winston
RB- Da. Johnson/Mixon/G. Bernard/Yeldon/J.Conner
WR- OBJ/M. Thomas/K. Allen/Watkins/G. Tate/J. Ross/Lockett/C. Coleman/C. Samuel
TE- Gronk/H. Henry/Eifert/J. Smith
Rookie picks (draft on 8/20)- 1.02/1.06/3.09/4.07

Always take BPA and then trade later. I’d take who you is BPA at 1.02, and then hope for Guice to fall to 1.06.

Package 1.02 and 1.06 together and go after a player like Dalvin Cook.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, that would be Chubb for me, and I def agree on the BPA point. I think there's a little wiggle room this year however given the huge 2nd tier.

I actually tried that exact trade, lol! The dude loves Cook, but might be more willing when the draft starts
