Is it time to cut Brandon Tate?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Is it time to cut Brandon Tate?

Postby pdaignau » Tue Nov 30, 2010 8:15 pm

Does Brandon Tate need more time or is he not that good?

Somebody cut Golden Tate, I could try to get him off WW. Or I could stash away another RB (James Starks, Deji Karim, etc.)
Start: QB, 2x RB, 2x WR\RB, 2x WR\TE, K, Def - Standard Scoring - 12 Teams
QB: Drew Brees, Joe Flacco, Ryan Fitzpatrick
RB: Doug Martin, Mark Ingram, Devonta Freeman, Tevin Coleman, Alfred Morris, Andre Ellington
WR: Allen Robinson, Keenan Allen, Brandon Marshall, Donte Moncrief, Michael Floyd, Phillip Dorsett, Josh Doctson
DEF, K: Yes

I would hang onto Brandon Tate...I think he just needs another season and has plenty of talent. If your league is NON ppr, I would cut Shipley and add Golden Tate or Starks.

I'd keep Tate and Shipley.

Golden > Brandon

Both need time to develop, but I like the Golden version of Tate better than Brandon, who is a fantastic return man but like Golden has a ways to go as a WR.

Keep Shipley. I'm undecided on the Tates.

I kept Brandon Tate and Shipley. Someone with a higher WW# picked up Golden.

Hold Tate and Shipley.

Worst case scenario is that they will have (some) trade value early in the year next year as the old guys on their teams move on and they move up. I don't think either will see a start in your roster barring injuries. Trade as soon as you can get some value. I wouldn't cut them straight up.

Pillage FIRST! THEN burn. Doing it the other way around is pointless.

I see you missed out on Golden Tate, which is a bummer because I would much rather have him than Brandon Tate. He's had some serious knee injuries and I think Golden has a ton of upside. I like Shipley a lot but I really don't know how high his ceiling is. I think Golden's ceiling is extremely high.
