AB or OBJ?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

AB or OBJ?

Postby claypigeon49 » Mon Apr 23, 2018 10:30 am

I'm in friendly banter with a league mate of mine over who is the preferable option - OBJ or AB. In 1/2 PPR, regardless of team makeup, who would you take?

Brown turns 30 this summer, but has finished 4, 1, 1, 2, and 2 over the past 5 years in this scoring. He has probably peaked at this age, but doesn't appear to be slowing down at all and could remain a top 5 WR for another 3+ years. The team around him isn't completely stable (few NFL franchises are), but Big Ben seems committed for another couple of years, Bell is around for at least another year, and JuJu seems a promising WR2 to help spread the defense.

OBJ is über-talented and is only 25. He has never finished higher than the 4th best WR and has only played in like 47 of 64 possible games due to injury, but he certainly seems like the best is yet to come. The Giants had a horrible 2017, but could rebound nicely under Shurmur and a solid draft.

What say you all?
12 team SF, 30-man rosters plus taxi and IR

QB: Mahomes, Allen, Stroud, Heinicke, Stidham, Trubitsky, Rush, McCoy
RB: Taylor, Etienne, Gibbs, Charbonnet, Hines, Hubbard, Warren, Hasty, Trayvon Williams

TE: Goedert, Likely

Both are amazing but for dynasty purposes, I'm taking OBJ

OBJ easily.
And injury wise OBJ missed the 1st 4 games of his career and then from game 5 of the 2014 season to game 1 of the 2017 did not miss a game due to injury.

This is OBJ. He’s a dominant WR and years younger then AB. You’ll get nearly the same production out of the 2, but one is going into their 30s and the other is in their prime. No brainer IMO

OBJ all day long for dynasty
My PPR dynasties (QB/RB/WR/TE/FL):

Under construction...just noticed teams I had shown were very different than where they are now (lots of trading last 12 months). LOL

As a owner of both players...AB's current team make up with Bell, JuJu and Big Ben gives him the edge for the short term.

But OBJ is the better prospect to have long term due to age and gamebreakinig skills.

Tough Debate
