Howard or 1.5+

Postby GreenAndWhite81 » Tue Apr 17, 2018 1:44 pm

PPR, standard MFL scoring.

I was offered Jordan Howard/2nd for my Godwin/1.5/2.1.

Aside from some some security blanket QB work I need to do, RB is the biggest weakness for this squad. But I was simply planning on drafting brba (best rb available) with both of these picks when the time came. (Or draft brba at 1.5, and trade that 2.1 for another QB that'd help me make some noise this year.) Stick with my plan, or pull the trigger on Howard?

FWIW, I don't love trading for RBs before the draft unless they're a sure thing, and Howard seems to be a bit of a wildcard this offseason. Thoughts?

Squad:

Mariota
Mixon/Ingram/Miller/Foreman/Gio
Hopkins/ARob/Cooper/Diggs/Watkins/Treadwell/Godwin
Henry/Brate

(Bolded starters with a grain of salt. Who knows with these WRs when the time comes...)

Howard > 1.05 + Godwin. Especially easy decision given your WR depth.

I like the Howard side, especially for that team.

I would take the 1.5+ - especially in PPR.

Howard will never be anything more than a mid-tier RB2 and I would argue you're going to get an RB that is more talented than him at the 1.5 spot this upcoming year.

Godwin & 2.1 >> the other 2nd.

Howard also is not an RB I would be targeting before the draft.

Thanks all - appreciate your help!

I think I'll at least hold tight until after the NFL draft, and see what happens in Chi. Odds are that my 1.5 only increases in value - and hopefully I'll also gain a little more clarity around Howard's future.

This can go both ways, too. Howard locked in as feature back might not be in the other owner's plans on a similar deal. I like the idea to wait, but it could also sway values from the other side.

It's close but I prefer the 1.05/2.01 and long term value of Godwin.

I think it's pretty even, but I like the 1.5 side. I think Godwin begins to break out this year and bridges the gap between Howard and 1.5

I prefer the 1.05 to Howard straight up. There’s actually a decent possibility that the RB at 1.05 is Howard’s replacement. The 2.01 is much better than a random future 2nd, so you’d basically be giving away Godwin for nothing.
Both are 12-team 1QB PPR dynasties

WR: Nuk $78/1, MT $25/1, M. Williams $1/0, JSN $21/5, Reed $4/5, Rice $4/5, M. Wilson $2/5

No way. Howard has done well for the Bears despite having no passing threat to take guys out of the box. Bears also took Cohen in the 4th last year so they have the speedster they like to compliment Howard.

Also, Bears have so, so many holes on their team, they won't spend a 2nd or 3rd round pick to replace a guy who's doing plenty well enough.

All depends if anyone drops. If Penny is there in the 4th, or Kerryon Johnson in the 5th, could easily see them pull the trigger on either of those. Then Howard could just be this yrs Yeldon/Ware...value won't quite sink thru the floor like Yeldon's did, but you could prob cut it in half similar to what happened to Ware before his injury.
