M. Gordon+Wentz Trade

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

M. Gordon+Wentz Trade

Postby j_thunda_ » Wed Apr 11, 2018 2:54 pm

As the owner of Wentz and Gordon I’ve never been all in on them. I’m sure most would turn this down, but my gut tells me the long term outlook on what I’m receiving is much better then what I’m giving up. Thoughts? Pull the trigger?

Give: Wentz + M.Gordon + 3.10
Receive: 2018 1.3 + Jimmy G.

Going to try and flip 1.3 for Mixon or draft Chubb.

Of note. I have Barkley, Cook, Drake, CMC as my RBs. And I’m a 49ers fan and I’m drinking the coolaid on Jimmy. There is also a lot of conflicting talks of Gordon’s role reducing or increasing depending upon the week (coming out of the coach).
Thanks.

Yeah - that's a bad deal. Given MelGo's production, you'd hope 1.03 becomes that. And I'm low on MelGo.

Here is the modified deal on the table:

R. Wilson
Gordon
2018 2.3
2018 2.6
2018 3.11

Jimmy G.
2018 1.3
2018 3.3
2019 2nd
2020 1st

Thoughts?

Not so sure that's even better.

Gordon is the most valuable piece.

Not sure why you care about Jimmy G so much when you have Wentz & Wilson.

I feel like that new deal is actually worse.

Wentz only popped one season and coming off injury. Wilson aging and peak value.

I personally believe Jimmy gonna pass a lot. Just look at his small sample size on passing attempts. Long term I think he’s better then the other two. Plus I pulled Wentz out and swapped in Wilson.

As far as Gordon I just don’t see his value climbing higher then it is now. The #3 pick nets me Mixon and I firmly believe Mixon has immense potential to break out.

This is my logic. Not much stats to back it at this time. Just imitation. Could be wrong.

Then just do it and regret it a couple years from now. Its a bad move, though.

You are trading away top producers at their positions for hypotheticals that need everything to go right to even match what you are giving away.

No, you're selling low on your players.
