Help on offer for Dalvin Cook

Postby jwconnel » Sat Mar 31, 2018 4:23 am

I'm trying to improve my RBs, but I'm not sure where to start. I tried offering AJG for his 1.02 pick, but he rejected it saying he needs RB's more (he has Henry, Cook, 1.02 and not much else). I also know he has only 1 QB (Cousins) and Brate is his best TE. It is a 1QB league, but I have a lot of depth.

My team (start 1QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1TE, 2Flex):
QB: Cam, Watson, Trubisky
WR: Green, Gordon, Allen, Baldwin, Shepard, Richardson, Cobb
RB: Hunt, Miller, Lewis, Coleman, Foreman, Drake, Burkhead
TE: Ertz, ASJ, Everett, Jonnu

What's a good offer for Cook (or 1.02) that won't hurt my chances for winning it all this year? I have a late 1st and '19 1st I can offer as well.

AJ was a fair offer and on paper should have gotten it done, but since he needs RB not surprised it got rejected.

Think it will be hard for you because you’re also trying to improve RB and are worse then him. You will probably have to overpay with this owner.

I wouldn't consider your team a contender. Don't really seeing you bundling assets to get either of those. You'd probably have to do something with hunt or Allen to get a deal done and I'm not sure I would do that if I were u.

Maybe Allen for cook and 1.2

I agree with this approach. If the other team is QB needy, try using one of your QBs in a bundle

One of your QBs , Maybe Watson even up
Or Lewis and a pick

Guys that I wouldn't wanna move if you are trying to win now is 1 of Cam or Watson , AJG , Hunt , Drake , Ertz I would try to get a deal done without moving them

Id move on. Im sure there is another owner in your league who isnt RB needy. Trying to get a running back from a running back needy team is a recipe for a long drawn out negotiation ending in either an overpay or no deal. Its probably not worth your time to pursue.

Based on how people value Dalvin around here, none of these are close except for maybe AJ. Not that I agree with Cook's valuation, but it is what it is.

idk if he can land Cook without moving a big guy maybe one of his QBs , Miller or Miller , Pick or QB , Pick he can have a nice starting lineup

Watson or Cam
Hunt , Cook , Drake
Allen , AJG , Baldwin
Ertz

It is a pretty strong lineup and he has some others that can be pretty good.

TBH I would probably want Cook even up for Watson , You got a possible top 5 QB for the next 10-15 years he has been hurt for a RB that already had a major injury and they avg about 3-5 years.

Edit - Ehh maybe not totally even but I wouldn't add much to Watson for Cook

Thanks for the replies guys. I guess I thought I was another strong RB away from really having a shot with AJ, Keenan and Baldwin on the receiver side. It seems that not everyone feels that way. Either way, I appreciate any input given.

I think you should be a contender with that team. If I was going to do an offer, I would do something involving your late 1st + something else, since you said he doesn’t have much, he may be wanting draft picks more than anything.

But I agree that seeking a RB from a RB needy team is a fruitless endeavor. At best, you have to overpay.
