Nuk + 2.06 for Adams + Mixon

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Nuk + 2.06 for Adams + Mixon

Postby Gandalf » Wed Mar 21, 2018 7:39 am

Number of Teams: 13 teams with 30 man rosters
League settings: 0.5 PPR, standard scoring otherwise
Starting Lineup: 1QB, 2RB, 2WR, 2Flex (WR/RB/TE), TE, DST, K

I give:
  • DeAndre Hopkins
  • 2018 2.06 (pick 19)
I get:
  • Davante Adams
  • Joe Mixon
Current Roster:
QB: Carr, Keenum, Tannehill, Bradford
RB: Hyde, Ingram, Gio, Abdullah, J-Stew, Peyton Barber, Mike Davis, Rawls, Charles Sims
WR: Nuk, Julio, ARob, T.Y. Hilton, Watkins, Moncrief, Lockett, Dede Westbrook, Trent Taylor, Tyler Boyd
TE: Ertz, Eifert, Kroft, Vance McDonald

2018 Draft Stock: 1.02 (Guice for now), 2.06, 4.12, 5.01, 5.12

My thoughts:
I'm leaning towards no but the added depth would be nice. I'm a big believer in Mixon but I feel this is trade is valuing him closer to his ceiling instead of his actual worth. Mixon would have to cement himself as a consistent RB1 to make this trade worthwhile.

What do you all think?

x2 I'm not a huge Mixon fan. I would probably accept Hopkins straight up for Adams + Mixon + 2nd though. The original offer is pretty close, especially since you are a big believer in Mixon.

This is really close for me. I think adding Mixon to your team would improve your RB situation greatly. Losing Hopkins would suck, but Adams is still pretty good and you have other solid WRs to keep you competitive.

Agree with above. Comes down to preference for me, I’d prefer Hopkins

I'd go for it.

I like Adams more than most, and honestly, I don't think him and Nuk will be all that far apart this season (WR2 for Nuk, and WR5/6 for Adams). I don't love Mixon like most around here seem to, but he's still worth far more than the 2.06. The massive difference between Mixon and the 2.06 easily bridges the small gap between Nuk and Adams.

NTM, you have great depth at WR so the ever so slight hit to WR, will not even be noticed when you think about the increase in production at RB.

Do it. Your starting lineup will thank me in September.

Both Adams and Mix are buy now guys for me, so I like their side of the trade.

Nuk, very easily for me. Hopkins is only six months older than Adams, and has posted three NFL seasons with 76+ catches and 1200+ yards, with basically scrub QBs (Watson is obviously awesome but only played 7 games last season). Adams best season is 75 catches for 997 yards...with Aaron Rodgers. Nuk also has two seasons with 10+ TDs, same as Adams. Add in that Adams has had three concussions since the beginning of the 2016 season, and the gap between the two is huge in my opinion...much larger than a second year back that averaged 3.5 ypc and rushed for more than 52 yards in a game only three times in his rookie season. Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of Joe Mixon and think he could possibly breakout. My bigger issue is with Adams and where he is currently being valued. It's absurd in my opinion. Anyways, Nuk side easily for me in the one.

Push. Mixon is worth a lot more than a 2nd round pick. Same can be said of the gap down from Hopkins to Adams. If you're an Adams believer, I can see the appeal. I am not one.
If you can't leave at least a 20% tip, you can't afford to eat out.

Nuk....Adams brain been rocked too many times for me to invest this heavily in him. But worth considering if you believe in Adams. Does add nice depth...
