Is this the window to sell Peyton Barber?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Is this the window to sell Peyton Barber?

Postby joeday » Wed Feb 21, 2018 6:53 am

Another owner asked me about him since Martin was cut. Is Barber the starter or is it pretty obvious the Bucs draft someone? What is Barber worth, if anything?

Yes. Window will more than likely slam shut in April, in my opinion. I’d try to get a 2nd but would take an earlier 3rd.

I got an early 3rd for him before Martin was dropped, but we both figured he would be, so I would say late 2nd early 3rd would be the best youd get

Now is the time to move him for sure. I don't see Barber starting come the beginning of the season. Tampa almost has to take one of the promising backs coming out in the draft.

I doubt many see him as in the running for lead back duties and would assume his value will actually be higher if they draft a RB and you sell off as backup to that RB

Unfortunately the off-season is the time to sell nearly every RB that performed well off the bench. Teams treat these guys as disposable more often then not.

I have two shares of Barber. I'd sell for a second but hold for a third. His chance of being something seems about the same as a 3rd round pick, but he has a better chance of being a bye week fill in type guy on a bye week in a committee if that's what (likely) forms in Tamps

Sell if you can. He looked decent last year but there are plenty of mocks out there that have the Bucs taking Saquon. We've been burned by free agent signings for 3 years straight so they'll hopefully address the need through the deep draft. I'd sell for any second.

Agree with mostly everyone else here. Start high asking for a 2nd but sell for a 3rd. They will add a FA or prospect from the draft and Barber imo is JAG
12 Team League, 30 Player Rosters (inc. Def./K), 3 IR Spots, 3 Taxi Squad Spots, Superflex with 6 pt QB TDs, PPR.. Start 1 QB, 2 RBs, 3 WRs, 2 Flex, 1 TE, 1 SFlex

QB; Dak, Mahomes
RB: McCaffrey, Derrick Henry, Chris Thompson, Foreman Breida, Clement, D. Washington
WR: Parker, Martavis, Kupp, Golladay, Westbrook, Godwin, Hollins, Chad Williams, Switzer, Carlos Henderson (IR), Krishawn Hogan (IR), Michael Clark, Austin Carr (Taxi), KD Cannon (Taxi), DeAngelo Yancey (Taxi)
TE: Engram, ASJ, Ebron, Jonnu, RSJ, Rico Gathers (IR)

2018 Draft Picks: 1.01, 1.05, 2.01, 2.05, 2.06, 3.01, 3.02

If the Bucs don't address their secondary or pass rush at seven a lot of people at One Buc Place should be fired.

Not to mention, barring injury there is not a chance Barkley falls that far.

Anyone mocking that pick is not worth listening to.
