Team Direction

Postby tyzee15 » Fri Feb 02, 2018 8:37 pm

Hey Y'all,

I was wondering what I should do in the upcoming draft, here's my situation:

I have the 1.09 & 1.10 picks and I have pegged RB as one of my weak points (see roster below). Would you rather try and convert one (or both) of those picks into the 1.01 or 1.02 to secure Barkley or Guice OR rely on the depth of this years RBs and take two that fall to me at the end of the first? As you can see I have some WR depth to play with too. I already have plans to improve my TE depth via the draft and FAs and am not too worried about DL (knock on wood :) ). Thanks in advance!!

Landing spots will determine this. I think you should stay put until you see where these cats land. 1.2 might not be Guice in 2 months.

I do like your WR depth, and would use any WR but OBJ/KA to get an RB - maybe start with Diggs? Depending one which WR you choose will determine the RB value you can go after, but I wouldn't hesitate to pair a WR with Perine/Picks to upgrade that area. I wouldn't say you "need" the 1.01, or the 1.02 to upgrade this position, obviously it helps, but there can be options elsewhere. I agree with Sherberty, I would wait and see what happens in April to determine actions. Hard to do, I'm getting antsy myself waiting.

You're going to have to add a lot to those picks to get Barkley. Something like Davis and both 1sts might be enough.

I think it would cost too much for you to get the 1.01. The 1.02 seems to have a decent drop off in value, but I agree with earlier post that knowing landing spots would help. I'd sit and wait.

Ultimately though, I don't think I would make any move, in a 10 team league, its easier to build any depth with your later picks.

I would hold with your current picks. Landing spots for all rookies are key and this draft is supposed to be special and very deep. I think you are in a pretty good spot for a 10 team league. As mentioned above, I think it would take a lot more to move up to the 1.01 or 1.02 then just the 2 picks.

I would wait until draft hits. I think your a strong contender. Get lucky with a RB pick (I would draft only RB to increase your chances :D lol), dont draft TE too high...

As was mentioned, you might be able to pair one of those picks with a WR like Diggs to land an established RB. But I agree with those who advised not to worry about it. You have 2 solid starters at RB already and with the depth of RB in this class, you will have 2 shots at a Penny, Jones, Kerryon, type back where you would need only one to make an impact first year for bye week concerns. Your WR core takes care of your flex and you could trade for a cheap veteran TE for depth (think Walker, Rudolph, etc., or lower potential like McDonald).
