Doctson

Postby Rtreilly81 » Wed Jan 31, 2018 8:42 pm

Who is still a believer as Doctson as a WR2 boarderline WR1 in 2018? Does Smith help or hurt his stock?

Asking no for a friend....

Most seem to think Alex Smith is more beneficial for Crowder but I disagree somewhat. Alot of Crowder's production came because Cousins locked onto him. I recall Cousin in training camp last season locking onto Crowder even if Pryor was streaking downfield wide open. That bromance is gone. So if Doctson can stay healthy and keep improving, theres full reason to believe he can rightfully be the WR1 there. If you're thinking hes a high end WR 2/low end WR 1 in fantasy thats too optimistic. I think low end WR 2/high end WR 3 is more realistic.

I don't see him being a WR1/2, and not necessarily because of Smith.

im less optimistic with smith in town. i hate smith with a passion and his wrs always suck because he isn't that good. reid helped him thrive but he doesn't have him anymore so i'm worried. smith went an entire season without throwing a TD to a wr on his team...AN ENTIRE SEASON

I think he's a WR2/3 but in the only league I own, no one is valuing him at that level during trades. I think the opinion of his potential continues to vary greatly.

I'd sell if I can for a mid 2nd or better.

I'm not sure how I feel about Doctson, but I don't think Smith really helps any more than Cousins would have. I don't think WR2 numbers is totally out of the realm of possibility though.

I completely agree, Smith has supported all of two 1000 yard seasons from his WR or TE's IN 12 YEARS! That speaks volumes to me.

Smith scares me. He threw deep more often this year, but I don't trust him to continue that, and a lot of Doctson's game is deep balls and jump balls. I'm a Doctson owner and if I find someone who feels more optimistic than me I'm gonna deal him. I play in an IDP league and would trade him for a shot at one of the top 2 inside rookie linebackers.

I offered my 2.08 for Docston yesterday and was shot down fast. Said he'd have taken my 2.02 & 3.12, which I thought was too much.

I like Doctson, but I am on the side that thinks Smith will hurt his value, but, I also agree that he is in the realm of WR 3/2. With his talent though, I am not looking to sell, he is a hold for me, despite Smith potentially hurting his value.

I think Doctson is fine with Smith there and also think Reid's lay calling kept smilth throwing short. I know he was throwing to a lightning bolt on Hill this year, but his passes were on time and accurate. His skill is there and if the offence calls for it, he will be fine.
