Mixon and Thielen for the #1

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Mixon and Thielen for the #1

Postby TheEastWest » Wed Dec 27, 2017 6:50 am

Trying to get into position to get the #1.
What do you feel needs to be added to Mixon?
Would Mixon and Thielen be a fair offer?

I am in a very similar situation as you, trying to get the 1.01 when you already have a loaded roster.. I am thinking Mixon and Thielin wont get it done for the 1.01 though.

It really depends on how the other team values the players. Most people think Mixon was the 1.02-1.04 from last year, and Thielen is worth a late first. This SHOULD be a more than fair offer, but I don’t doubt the person would ask for more to get SBarkley.

I think that would be an overpay for the 1.01.

This depends entirely on your view of Mixon. He didn't look impressive at all to me this season - nothing remotely to justify his draft position a year ago. My valuation of the pieces would be 1.01 > Thielen > Mixon. It's pretty even, just depending on whether you favor the bird-in-the-hand approach.

I wouldn't give up more than Mixon for 1.1 - at least not now without knowing where Barkley/guice/etc are going....

Also both those guys could blow out their knee at a bowl game, combine or pro day. You know where Mixon is and he has produced with a terrible line and offense in flux.

i think it's too much for the #1. i like thielen more than mixon but some value mixon higher. i think thielen's a stud and adding mixon to that is a bit rich for me

Yeah I'd say overpay, I agree with lukky about mixon's value if they improve their oline in the off-season/draft. I know taking a guard in top 10 isn't usually the go but I hope they snag Nelson they won't regret it. Also thielen has backed up his great season last year with a good year again.

To be fair, same could be said for Corey Davis and even Coleman from a year ago...a guy you defended a lot during the off-season. So I don't see why Mixon's value would take a hit when you yourself said Coleman's shouldn't have a year ago.

I don't disagree. But I also never had Mixon rated as highly as some did either. I favored both CMC and Cook with Mixon being no better than 1.04-1.05 which is why I said it depends on your view of Mixon. I was hoping to see this season what some (like yourself) really liked about him and I didn't see it. Of all the rookie RBs, he was one of the more disappointing this season. I still think he has plenty of upside.
