Julio for 1.01

A guy in my league has 1.01 and wants Julio. He also wants me to add a first to Julio to get 1.01. I don’t think that’s a deal I’m willing to make but wanted to get opinions. What does everyone think?

I asked this question so I could prove my point to him that it wasn’t just my opinion that he was crazy. While it’s not an offer i would accept, with my situation, i would take 1.01 plus a small amount and be happy trading Julio. If you want to run your mouth, do it on someone else’s post.

His consistency is driving me crazy. In our league he only had three games over 20 points. I may not be able to get the overall points that he scores but I need more consistency. And my top 4 will be AB, Nuk, Allen and Micheal Thomas. I’m not hurting on WRs. But injuries killed me at RB and if i have a chance to get Barkley it would be worth it to my team. Plus it’ll give me 4 firsts that I can stock pile good young players with. And I need cap space.

And I do understand his value. If I can’t get a deal I like I won’t move him. But I’ve used 97% of my cap space and trading him for a guy on a rookie contract would save me a lot of money and wouldn’t hurt my chance of winning much.

Granted, that gap is narrowing as Julio ages and the draft approaches, but still. Walk away if he asked for the 1.04+Julio, because that's a joke.

With your team roster in mind, I would take 1.01 for Julio, minus the 1.04, get out of here adding that into it. Maybe throw in a 3rd or 4th at most to make him happy. But if you could land Barkley pairing him with DJ, your other WR's are insane, you will benefit, but keep that 1.04 and grab Sutton(if he is there) or one of the young WR's and you will be sitting pretty.

Sounds like you've already made up your mind that you'll be doing some variation of Julio for 1.01 but are just trying to limit to the bare minimum. Assume you have offered Julio around to other teams.

If the other owner is smart, he'll see the same argument you're making and hold out for as large a haul as possible. Worst case scenario, he walks away with Saquon. There shouldn't be any urgency for him.

It's an 8 team league. Every roster should be loaded. Losing DJ must've hurt considering your other RB options while having had to leave one of your WRs on the bench every week. Saquon changes that equation.

It's okay to go against the general consensus and overpay in some instances.

To OP, pass on the offer. I would do it straight up though. I traded Julio and Gaskin for Barkley in my non-PPR devy earlier this year.

an 8 team league I can hardly understand the point of...but anyway dealing Julio for 1.1 makes sense to me, value be damned. youre basically risking a stud at a position of strength to maybe get a stud where you need it more.

now...as for all the weird sensitive butthurt in this thread...I'm not seeing it.

here you asked for an opinion, Coogans bring that it would be "insane". take a step back and settle down dude. Personally...I much prefer strong opinions like Coogans as doubt erasers and clarifiers than lukewarm niceties.

I have no problems with replies stating thinking about this trade or that trade is insane. I just don’t need to be insulted in the process. I have found over the last couple years using this forum that people tend to post based on other people’s opinions so when I make a post I try to remain neutral. I want someone’s own opinion and by placing my own in the question I’m afraid it’ll sway others.

I'd like to find more than a handful of WRs this season who have been consistent. I'd still value Julio more than the 1.01 in any class though I could understand someone believing it to be a fair deal. Where this offer goes completely sideways was expecting the 1.04 (or really any additional piece) in addition to Julio.
