2018 Draft Class

Postby MockGM » Fri Oct 27, 2017 9:38 am

Hi all, after losing in the finals last year and coming into the season as a championship favorite my team was a dumpster fire starting 0-5. This has me focused on the top of the 2018 draft class. I'm pseudo-tanking for Saquon, but is there any standout talent I'm missing or undervalue in the 1.02-1.04 range? I don't love Guice, sorta like Ridley and don't see Washington/Kirk/Sutton as WR1's in the NFL. Let me know if it should be 1.01 or bust this year.

You have Gruice and Chubb coming out, but a lot depends on where they land. Zeke landed in the perfect spot with a top flight o-line. Look at Mixon, he has the talent, a elite wr on the outside but the o-line is horrible. I'd simply continue to get beat and look to retool for 2018.

I'm a sucker for tall, speedy WR's. However, his production seems to be inconsistent especially for playing in a non-power 5 conference.

I think there's alot of potential this year meaning guys such as

L.j Scott rb Mich St
Sony Michel rb Georgia
Royce Freeman rb Oregon
Bo Scarborough rb Bama
Damien Harris rb Bama

Equanimeous St. Brown wr ND
Simmie Cobbs wr Indiana
Arden Tate wr Florida St
Deon Cain wr Clemson
Parris Campbell wr Ohio St

All have a chance to skyrocket on draft boards with good combine numbers these are just a handful i picked out off the top of my head.... will all these guys declare ... no. will there be more guys that seperate from the pack late ... absolutely... Are there guys ready i didn't mention most definitely. But in my mind there's plenty off nfl ready bodys this year but metrics are always key as well as preformances down the stretch. And as already mentioned landing spots/opportunity.

May i ask what you got against c. sutton an j. washington at this point. I'm not intrested in small school/system/conference knocks more intrested in eye test/film breakdown/things you personally noticed that will not translate at the next level in there game that they have brung to the table up untill this point or any small knicks in gameplay such as blocking/small route trees/lack of seperation against press coverage an so on?
12 team dynasty mainly standard scoring 20 player roster can keep up to 20 players

He's not just a straight-line speed guy, either. His route development has been really impressive the last 3 years, and he's pretty fluid for his size. And I wouldn't worry too much about the box score stats. He has seen some crazy coverages this year, especially against TCU. Plus he just started playing WR a few years ago. He has a long way to go, but his ceiling is absolutely massive imo.

Curious of this early look at 2018 thread as well

I went 2-4 to start the season and have Dalvin Cook hurt and Corey Davis banged up, I traded away Mixon and Keenan Allen as parts of a deal to get OBJ. At that point I wanted to #SuckForSaquon, but then won $5 for having the high score of the week first time in two years :wall: :? I'm 3-4 with two absolute dumpster fire teams I can't get below, and now doubting my ability to get 3rd or 4th to get into the lottery because my defenses score 20+ points a week with our boom/bust D scoring. Can't set poor lineups to intentionally tank

I did trade Thielen for a late first though. Curious if I should be looking to bundle my pick, could be 3-7 for all I freaking know, to move up or take two 1st round, non mouth watering, options

I'll also add Anthony Miller, Bryce Love and McKinney's own Ronald Jones to this list, but it's still a little early to peg this class

This class is a lot closer to 2017 than it is to 2016 where it was Zeke and then everyone else. It's pretty top heavy and has some real talent that can potentially come out. I've soured on the QBs a little, but that shouldn't be a big deal if you play in a 1QB league.

Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against Sutton/Washington and think they can both be decent to good prospects. But, if I'm sitting at 1.02 I'm not rejoicing like I have a Mike Evans star on my hands the way I did when drafting him 1.02 4 years ago. I love Sutton's size/speed/ability to make difficult catches, but I feel like he disappears in games both from a production and route running standpoint. I think he has a lot of upside and could turn out to be AJ Green. However, could also be Martavis-like and not be able to run a slew of routes? A lot of Washinton's game in college I feel is bully-ball and going up after 50-50's with great success, I'm not sure he has the measurables to play that type of game in the NFL. Will be interesting to see his times/size at the combine, but I see him as a mix between Landry/Corey Coleman.

Who are you taking 1.02/1.03 at this moment?
