Trade mid to late first for Brees???

Postby ch4351 » Wed Oct 18, 2017 11:23 pm

As with every other contending team that lost Rodgers would you make this deal? As fun as picks are Brees would keep the team below as the favorite to win it all. Any thoughts?

I would not pay more than a 2nd for Brees. If you can this week, CJ Beathard and Brett Hundley are decent options depending on how many QBs are rostered in your league. You can also try to buy low on Philip Rivers or Tyrod Taylor, both of whom have struggled so far but have great fantasy playoff schedules.

That's probably what it'd cost, but I think personally I'd prefer to roll with Goff and keep your 1st.

Depends on your record here. If you've gotten off to a hot start (5-1, 6-0) and are in serious contention for a first round bye, get Brees. If not, limp into the playoffs with Goff and hope ARod returns week 14 or so. The playoffs can be so fluky that getting the bye increases your chances of winning far more than who your QB is (one less chance for your team to throw a dud).

Eh I mean having brees would be awesome but I'd rather keep the first, maybe offer a 2nd and a developmental player.

I'd have a hard time giving up a 1st for Brees in a 1QB league. Have you tried going after some of the younger guys like Carr, Dak, Wentz, Mariota, etc to see if their owners would take a first for them?

Bree's went to a contending team for late 1st in my league. A 2nd plus a decent player could get it done as well. However, giving up a late 1st for to increase you chance of getting a bye/winning the championship would be worth it for me
