12 Team PPR:

Owner sent me offer of 2 2018 2's for my Juju Smith-Schuster and Aaron Jones.

I told him it wasn't close (2018 2's not same as 2017 2 and players have appreciated in value) and he went into a long diatribe about how he's paying more than I paid (2.4 and 4.1), Jones is a 3rd string RB and Juju is 4th option on his team and that it's more than fair. I told him that logic doesn't make sense as what I paid makes no difference in present values.

So what say you?

I mean in general people are worth their current production plus potential for future production and a little bit their name (and age in dynasty)

Unproven Potential isn't worth much on its own, but flashing potential is what makes people hotter. Juju has flashed some potential and I'd say he's worth more than his draft status.

Jones is an a spot with two injured GB RBs where he can also up his potential.

I wouldn't make that trade btw.

Both. In countering his argument I've told him they've both appreciated in value beyond what was paid and beyond what he's offering and told him additionally what was paid makes no difference anyways.

I think it's a pretty fair and reasonable offer. I'd say Juju is probably worth a late 1st, but I wouldn't pay that for him right now. Jones is being hyped right now, but I'd put his value at a 3rd...not sure I'd be willing to give a 2nd for him yet. So 2 2nds seems about right.

You say it's not close, but what would be fair in your opinion? If that's not close, are you expecting 2 1sts?

If i'm a JuJu owner I see no reason to sell for less than a mid 1st. Theres no way i'd pay that though. Jones is a late 2nd for me. It's not a terrible offer

I don’t wanna speak for the OP, but I’m not sure what you’re confused about. The two statements are not contradictory. He’s saying JuJu and Jones have appreciated in value since his draft, thus where he drafted them a few months ago should have no bearing on their current value, other than as a starting point to gauge how much their value has increased.

That's not a bad offer at all especially if your team stinks you could use the picks more than those two particular players I don't think either will be a legit weekly option anytime soon. It's nice both have flashed but the role and path to usage is muddy

If i'm a JuJu owner I see no reason to sell for less than a mid 1st. Theres no way i'd pay that though. Jones is a late 2nd for me. It's not a terrible offer

Exactly. I and most drafted him in late 1st/early 2nd hoping he'd flash at some point and possibly win the slot job. Now he has done both and it's just week 4. So I'm not sure why anyone would think he's only worth a 2018 2. Even if they think he's worth a 1 and Jones is worth a 3 (which given what he showed last week and his possible opportunity now is silly to me) 2 2's does not equal that. I think if someone was really looking cash out they would consider a 2018 1 and 2018 3. Anything less and I think most would hold the players and since the offer was out of nowhere and I'm not shopping them it's not close for me.

My team is solid, really young but competitive (2-2). I also own 6 2018 1's and 5 2018 2's already lol. But I don't understand this logic either way. Why would I take 2 random 2's for two players that have shown something on the field, one of whom was drafted highly this year?
