Need general team building advice

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Need general team building advice

Postby gunzwil guinea pigs » Sat Sep 16, 2017 4:01 am

Hi guys, started my first dynasty just this season. Its a friends league and we all haven't any dynasty experience... so I was wondering how to build my team in general (see team below)... we have a 30man roster so i picked up some fliers who could be good this year (f.e. Tolbert, C. Johnson, Clay, ...). But there are a lot of solide dynasty options still on waivers:

Kenneth Dixon (BAL), Leonte Caroo (MIA), Mack Hollins (PHI), Torrey Smith (PHI), Jaron Brown (ARI), Chad Williams (ARI), Philipp Dorsett (NE), De'Angelo Henderson (DEN), Wayne Gallman (NYG), DeDe Westbrook (JAX), Elijah McGuire (NYJ), Adam Shaheen (CHI)

What would you recommend? I just acquired another 1st rd pick (and rawls/powell) for monty/hogan... I lost my first game with 2nd most points scored.

Thx for your generell advice for dynasty and for team advice as well :) aaand don't hate, it's just a friends league full of rookies ;)

I'd add Elijah McGuire because why not. He has 2 old not so great RBS in front of him and a chance to become a starter.

Echo the above comments about Mack, Williams, and McGuire. Would probably add Shaheen as well, to have a developing TE in there. Why not.

tolbert, chris johnson, and goodwin are all droppable.

i get that they may put up some numbers this year, but they have zero long term value.

I like your roster construction and that you're looking ahead. So, your goal should be to acquire picks and/or young talent.

In other words, the ONLY reason to pick up and roster guys like C. Johnson, Goodwin, Tolbert, etc. is to flip them for picks. If the league doesn't value them enough to offer you anything, then drop them for the young, upside players.
