Mixon or D.cook?

Postby Boxseed » Thu Sep 14, 2017 3:36 pm

Mixon or dalvin cook? I am a serious contender in a league I'm in and I have cook at the moment..

I know before the draft everyone or most people had mixon ahead of cook.. now I would like to see where everyone is at.

I'll still take Mixon long term, however, it's Cook for a contender no doubt.

Since you're contending, keep Cook. I still have Mixon ahead of him long-term, but the gap was never big for me. Mixon and Cook were always my top 2 RBs in this draft.

If you're seriously contending then you want Cook. Most people put Mixon ahead of him longterm, and that doesn't change week 1. People who have Mixon know there's a crowded situation and he will need time to turn his potential into points.

It was Cook 6-8 month ago, then Mixon after the NFL draft, and now I've seen a few people put Cook ahead again after a good week 1.

I prefer Mixon, but it's just personal preference with the player and situation.

Toss up for all 4 RBs as far as I'm concerned -- I loved cook until the draft and am bummed I let my hatred of all thing vikings sway from taking him, but I like all 4 long term about the same - maybe edge to fournette.

Typed a big rant message about how inflated Mixon's stock got post-combine but I'll spare you all. I prefer Cook regardless of team make-up

Mixon by a decent margin still for me. While I like Cooks floor for volume, I don't like the situation or line. I won't over react to Week 1 (people still really do that) especially against the Saints. I would have to bump lots of guys up if that was the case. With that said, I could warm up more to him after 5 or 6 games, but this is a marathon not a sprint. Redraft I have no issue with Cook.

It would help to know what your entire RB situation looks like. Are you relying on Cook as an every-week starter? If so, I have to question how serious of a contender you really are. Cook had a nice game against a notoriously porous Saints defense. I don't think that alone is enough to vault him over Mixon, assuming you had Mixon ranked ahead of him in the first place. This seems like an ideal opportunity to take advantage of recency bias. Hell, after Mixon's meh game tonight, you might even be able to get a small piece added.
Both are 12-team 1QB PPR dynasties

Cook in college, cook After the combine which mixon wasn't invited to, cook after the NFL draft, cook now, cook five years from now. The mixon infatuation on here is bizarre

Cook 100%. He has already shown he can ball and was dominate at FSU with a bad line. Long term or short term, it isn't close for me. Cook had the workload in college, was great. Mixon should be good too, but smaller workload in college, split backfield now, and nothing that has proven to me he will be a bellcow. Cook's team, volume and coaching make it appear he is a bellcow for the foreseeable future. Add in bad Bengals o-line, staying away from mixon.
