Why would I? Isn't the point of early firsts to get promising rookies in good situations to score? Is that not exactly what I'm looking at?

I wouldn't say he's untouchable by any stretch, but I'm not moving him for anything except another proven young stud (or perhaps a solid contributor + an early pick pick), both of which would be an overpay after one game. I have to imagine the people saying they'd trade him for a mid-1st rounder are people wishfully thinking that they'll be able to get him for that price... he was a mid-late 1st rounder in rookie drafts before Ware went down and before he went off for 45 PPR-league points in his debut. You crazy? No way does a mid-1st get him.

So, like, come at me with Zeke or something equally stupid and sure, but otherwise, I'll pass.

EDIT: I did misread the question and thought you were asking what you'd SELL him for, not what you'd PAY for him. I get people not being willing to shell out for him yet in that case. Still, mid-1st isn't getting close right now.
This - as a Hunt owner, we basically struck gold. This was phrased perfectly - what are you looking for in a 1st round rookie pick? You're looking for exactly what Hunt has given you, but now it's proven, it's no longer a "what if". There is no way he's going for only a first round pick at this point. Especially now that he has played a real NFL game against what should have been at least a solid defense, and showed that he could be a true bellcow back in Andy Reid's offense, he's gained the teams trust after this game and I don't see that changing at all anytime soon. The main concern for Hunt should have been, "Can he handle a bellcow role? Or will he fall apart under the pressure and remain a timeshare/pass catcher/hurry up offense role once 2018 roles around?" He has answered that question. Hunt should be basically locked into a high RB2/fringe RB1 role barring injury. You will have to come at me with a ridiculous offer to tear that away.
If you read this you might as well put him in the hall of fame. It's all down hill from here guys. If I had him I would be asking a lot for him. I wouldn't even be close to trying to buy him right now. I just missed getting him in 3 out of 5 drafts this year. I wished I had one share but I think we have seen the best of it. Not worth what people would want for him and I am not willing to over pay for a guy who got lucky in his 1st game. Teams will start game planning for him now and that's a completely different ball game. He will still be solid but I am not putting him in the top 2 tiers yet.

I voted mid-2018 1st because one game doesn't make a career, and even though I own him and think he moved well....the New England defense was straight up terrible Thursday night; Id be curious to see how many of the big plays by KC went nearly untouched.

Hunt for me has been a late-mid - late 1st round pick for me all off-season, and I wouldn't take him over many people I had above him other than MAYBE OJ Howard now, but even then...it's easy to get excited about a player when the sample size is one week and that one week was a big one.

There is no upside in trading for him after week 1 unless his price is close to what it was last week. If he keeps it up...you break even on your investment. If he cools off and falls back down to mid-1st value, well then you probably overpaid by at least double. If you wait a few weeks, you either pay what you would pay now...or you avoid a buy-high period and get him for half of what he would cost this week.

I'm a Hunt owner and intending to test the waters by putting him on trade block in my league to see if I can get an overpay. However, I have next to nothing at TE - what would everyone think about Hunt for Gronk as the Gronk owner is stacked at TE and has previously made me an offer on Hunt (for Marty B) that I declined? Do it or pass? I am outside contender this year (top 4 I think) but need more to push me over the top. Thanks in advance.

While it is certainly a good sign that Hunt had a great first game let's maybe pump the breaks. I would like to compare this to Diggs last year. After two games last year people were comparing and making him the 2nd coming of AB....then he disappeared and returned to his WR2/WR3 form, but people were selling him for insane prices, or at least trying to.
I don't doubt that hunt is in a great situation, but one game doesn't make him a fantasy football superstar.

My reply to this comment isn't intended to be specific to this thread but rather in general as I think this is something that gets overstated a bit too much. It makes it sound like there wasn't a game plan in place to stop the run which doesn't make sense - particularly so against the Chiefs who have had a historically below average passing game as long as Alex Smith has been their QB. If anything, the game plan against the Chiefs is to force the pass by always stopping the run.

I don't think Hunt is the "second coming" or anything, but I don't like that there are so many in this thread being so dismissive of what he did this week. This was the New England Patriots who have the greatest coach in the NFL who knows how to make adjustments. Hunt simply ran rough shot over the defense and they were unable to contain him.
If you can't leave at least a 20% tip, you can't afford to eat out.

How does this mean he's going into the hall of fame? Haha. RB2/fringe RB1 deserves hall of fame status? Are you kidding me? This has nothing to do with being overhyped. The reality is this is a young RB, in an offense that leans HEAVY on the RB, and has shown that he can be leaned on. In no way does this mean that he's a hall of famer. Would you consider Mark Ingram a hall of famer? Because he has been an RB1 exceptionally frequently, no, because that would make you an idiot. Hunt will deliver, barring injury, week to week as a pass catcher and on the ground.

What someone said about untradable is 100% true, unless you're getting good offers it's just not possible and no one is going to offer what you're going to be asking. Unless you're going to hand me an RB1 or equivalent value, why would I trade him? This is going to be the thought process for nearly every Hunt owner.
