Don't own except in a redraft (11th round pick well spent). I'm not looking to buy at current price but voted early 2018 1st + more.

I traded away Carr to acquire the 1.6 pick in my draft to go along with my 1.7. At that point I was targeting Hunt and OJ, Ware getting hurt after definetly helped. Right now if he ends up a high end rb2 or low end rb1 I'm happy to pair him with Zeke. If I'm looking to move him it all depends on my situation. Rebuild I want a top young player and a high pick. Contending I'm cool with a high end aging vet.

I will pay an 18 and then some right now if I am contending today. I am not sure I'd do that if I am in rebuild mode. I thought about selling him but got frat advice to keep him and go for the ship this year, with that 18 first and then some is it.

I would not trade a pick that has a chance to be Saquon Barkley or Derrius Guice for Hunt.

This. It would take an extreme overpay to pry him away from current owners and I am simply not willing to go there. It's perhaps the worst time to buy. That said, if I owned him I would sit tight and let him help my team this year and then entertain an early '18 1st (+ ???) type offer at the trade deadline (or after) and watch tape on Guice, Barkley and Chubb non stop 😜

I have 5 firsts next year and offered the guy my 3rd, 4th, and 5th best picks. He said he would think about it. I think it is an overpay, but it still gives me my top two picks and my team is young, so I am ok with it.

I planned on him 1.6 in my league but he went before that. Now is definitely not the time to be buying hunt. Wait for him to come back down to earth a bit. Why buy a player at what might be his highest possible value?

What unreasonable hyped up owners want for him? 3 1sts and your first born child.

What reasonable owners who understand fantasy want? At least an early first.

What people who passed on him and wish they hadn't? Late 1st at best.

If you didn't buy him before this game you're gonna have to wait until expectations are tempered, somewhere around weeks 7-10 will be his true value.

Maybe Sutton too. You are not playing the odds if you are passing up those players for Hunt. And not just 60/40 odds, I mean like 90/10 odds. Hunt profiles as a guy that will have one very good year. Banking on more than that is very risky. Maybe you think he's the next Frank Gore, and maybe he is. But seriously, what are the odds of that? Slim at best. I said it in the Rawls thread at the time and I'll say it again here. One injury to a guy with limited athleticism can be devestating. A guy like Hunt can't afford to lose what little he has. Anyway, if you're a contender I understanding riding it out this year, but passing up a top 3 1st (maybe even top 4 or 5, we'll see) next offseason is a HUGE risk in my opinion.

Hunt is almost an untradeable asset right now. He was a staple of the late 1st round of rookie drafts a couple months ago when he was behind Ware and had no assured role. Now Ware's gone, Hunt is set to serve as a true 3-down back, and he just had the most productive NFL debut of all time.

I always advocate pumping the brakes on week 1 overreactions, but barring injury Hunt is locked in as a high RB2 at WORST. The upside is that Hunt's rise resembles something close to DJ/Freeman/Bell from years past. I'm not saying he will turn into that, but as an owner why would anyone want to sell Hunt for anything that resembles what he was worth a few months ago when he wasn't even his team's starting RB? On the flip side, most that want to buy him are just hoping to use the "small sample size" argument in hopes that they won't have to give anything substantial for him.

Yes Hunt has played one game, but it's also not Hunt's fault that he's only played 1 game, he's a rookie. It's going to take time before most buyers are willing to heavily invest in him, and as an owner there's just no reason to sell for more dart throws. It's the same situation that played out in '15 when Freeman went bonkers and people were still scared of paying for him until they saw more from him. At this point, unless you're turning him into a proven top asset, I think Hunt owners should dig their heels in and wait until he has a more proven track record. Of course the buzz is high on him right now and it's magnified because only 2 teams have played a game so far this season, but even if Hunt "only" serves as a low RB1 from here forward he will net a better return later in the year than he will today.

well, if what you generally hope for in a first round pick is what you have in Hunt, that means his value is higher than the pick almost by definition, since you remove the risk, isn't it?

What's the chance that his value remains this high by week 6? If we're talking twitter polls favoring Hunt to Fournette or three 2018 1sts, then I'm guessing we just saw his peak value for the year. If you're risk-averse, I'd think about cashing out high.
