Need to Drop Someone for a Kicker... help!

Postby Avery » Wed Sep 06, 2017 6:11 pm

"Team 1" below and I need to drop a player for a kicker.

The obvious candidates are:
RB: Booker, Lewis, Burkhead
WR: Treadwell

I hate to give up on Treadwell for as disappointing as he was in his rookie year, he is still young and will be given every opportunity to succeed given his draft pedigree.

Same story with Booker and he's getting heathy quicker than expected.

Lewis and Burkhead may have limited upsides so one of them may be the guy to drop?

Bonus points: Thinking about dropping a second guy to grab Tarik Cohen who I seem to have a growing affection for.

Would love to hear your opinion. Thanks!

I'd drop Booker or T West myself .. depends on how I feel about Booker, I really liked him coming out of college, but he certainly hasn't adopted to the outside zone .. he has been way too quick to the edge and hasn't let the play develop ..

But if you think he has Terrell Davis upside I wouldn't get too bent dropping West .. if you do not have that kind of opinion of Booker, than its going to be a long time before we get to see him again ..

Interesting. I wouldn't think West because, as unexciting as he is, he is the starting RB on a team with little competition for touches and that alone can be value.

I loved Booker coming out of college, and wouldn't give up on him yet. I'd lean towards Burkhead or Lewis. That backfield is crowded.
10 team league, 30 man rosters, .5 PPR:

QB: Smith
R. Wilson, Willis, Walker, Thompson
RB: Walker, Stevenson
Penny, Dobbins, Akers, K. Williams, K. Hill
WR: Chase, Pittman, Pickens
E. Moore, R. Moore, Doubs, Meyers, MVS, R. Anderson, Philips, A. Robinson, Thornton
TE: Everett
Schultz, Ferguson, Otton, Kolar
K: Butker

Good thought but no takers for anything I'd value more than one of these guys.

Keep Burkhead. He will lead that backfield in touches. Cut Lewis.

Lewis has been involved in a lot of these drop questions the past few days and he's always the right answer.

I voted Lewis as well. Couldn't blame you for dropping Burkhead for Cohen either.
Both are 12-team 1QB PPR dynasties

🦬PRIME🦬

Taxi: Willis, Z. White, M. Mims, T. Palmer

Hull Awaits
$450 cap, 60 contract years

QB: Lawrence $5/3, Richardson $5/5, Minshew $1/0, Jones $1/0, Heinicke $1/0, Tyrod $1/0
RB: Achane $4/4, Warren $2/4, Roschon $7/5, Dillon $4/1, Hubbard $2/1, Kelley $1/0
WR: Nuk $78/1, MT $25/1, M. Williams $1/0, JSN $21/5, Reed $4/5, Rice $4/5, M. Wilson $2/5
TE: Thomas $1/0, Hill $1/0, Parham $1/0

I already dropped West for Tarik Cohen in my league. West is still a FA after a week. If Dixon was not injured, West would have no value. With the Ravens poor run blocking, pass heavy offense, and Woodhead signing, I do not see West taking hold of the RB role past this season (Dixon and other competition will make him obsolete in 2018).

Lewis has also been dropped in my league recently, and is still a FA.
10 team PPR league, 24 man rosters, 5 man taxi, 5 man IR
QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, 2Flex
QB: Anthony Richardson, Tua Tagovailoa, Sam Howell, Trey Lance, Hendon Hooker (IR)
RB: Saquon Barkley, Rhamondre Stevenson, Khalil Herbert, Antonio Gibson, Gus Edwards, Jerome Ford, Kendre Miller (TX), Roschon Johnson (TX), Pierre Strong (TX), Tyson Chandler (TX)
WR: Garrett Wilson, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, DJ Moore, Diontae Johnson, Chris Godwin, Terry McLaurin, Kadarius Toney, Jayden Reed, John Metchie, Justyn Ross,
TE: George Kittle, T.J. Hockenson, Chigoziem Okonkwo, Sam LaPorta (TX), Isaiah Likely, Luke Schoonmaker (IR)

I definitely wouldn't drop West. He's not flashy, but he's in a solid position for this year at least. That's more than can be said for the other drop candidates. You yourself laid out why Treadwell isn't droppable.

I wouldn't pick up Cohen either. He's too undersized to ever be more than a change of pace back.

Personally I would keep Lewis and Burkhead until we see how the Pats backfield plays out for a week or two. Lewis has proven himself injury prone, but he's also shown elite upside. So for me Booker is easily the guy to cut.

Lewis or Booker but Id lean towards Lewis due to that crowded backfield.

Treadwell. He's a gadget guy still and the Vikes are run-first. Your bench is decently deep at WR and you can always pick up another (or the same) WR after your done with your K2. Hopefully, the need for a K2 is only for the first week Florida bye teams.

Treadwell is a gadget guy? Gadget, as in a broken tool sitting in the darkened garage that never gets used? That type of gadget?
