1.03 to 1.01

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

1.03 to 1.01

Postby mmass » Tue Aug 01, 2017 1:49 am

Trying to move up in my Superflex 1 draft from 1.03 to 1.01 but having a hard time getting a deal done. I don't have to have 1.01 but want it mostly to spread out the players I own. What would it should it take to move up 1.01.... by the way my 1 2 3 are Mixon Davis Fournette but I know it will go Fournette Davis Mixon... so I don't lose my one if I stay at 3 just want to be diversified.

I have 1.03 2.01 3.01 4.07 - 2 2018 2nd with everything else and all my picks in 2019.

For what it's worth, back in May, I traded the 1.01 for the 1.03, Lamar Miller and $800BB (out of a $1000 budget). Non-SF league, but I haven't seen any of the rookie QBs go top 3 in SF leagues, so I don't think that really changes the value of the top 3 picks.

I suspect the reason you're having trouble making the trade is because you don't really need/want to. You seem pretty confident that your #1 overall rookie will fall to you at 1.03, so naturally, you're probably not willing to add enough to the 1.03 to pique the interest of the 1.01 owner.

While I can appreciate the desire to diversify your rosters across multiple teams/leagues, I think that's something that's better addressed via trading than drafting. In rookie drafts, you should still stick to BPA, especially when it comes to those tier 1 picks. If you expect your #1 rookie to fall to you at 1.03, you should embrace that value, no matter how many times it falls in your lap. I just can't see the logic in trading up to draft a player you value less, solely in the name of roster diversification. If anything, you should be doing the opposite and looking to trade down in drafts when you suspect that your leaguemates value certain players less than you do.
Both are 12-team 1QB PPR dynasties

If Mixon is your #1 and you expect him to be there at 3, why would you move up? That doesn't make sense to me.

Don't trade just to make a trade. You'd potentially be giving more assets to another owner to get what you want and could have at 1.03.

What would you like to give? Maybe we can help you with an offer.

As mentioned already....I have no idea why your doing this if your certain your guy will be there at 3.

I'm very confused by this as well. Celebrate that the guy you think is the best in the draft will make it to you without having to pay out the butt for the 1.1

I got corey Davis at 1.3, felt he was the 1.1. Was stoked

Take the guy you think is your 1.01 at 1.03. Why would you pay more to get someone you think is worse? Don't worry about diversifying, you can do that later if you really want.

I'm just holding, your still getting a top young rb. Your team is pretty solid, just not a ton of depth. I'd hold and be happy with Mixon.

you are going to have to overpay to get to the 1.01.......Alot....so 1.03, 2.01 and cooper or TY.......

stay put and hope some is crazy enough to take Davis at 1.02 and give you the choice of Fournette or mixon at 1.03...you don't loose.

The cost to move up two spots is going to be more than the difference between Fournette, Davis and Mixon is. I would just sit tight and take whoever is left of the three.
