Kelce vs OJ Howard +

Postby mclilj » Fri Jul 28, 2017 9:46 pm

OJ owner has approached me for kelce and asked OJ + what? He has the best team for this season but he's old. Don't want to make him better but if I can get an early 2018 1st plus a 2nd and OJ should I pull the trigger? If you vote no please comment what your price would be? Players of note on his bench are CJA, Ingram, K Benjamin, davante parker.

I'd take it if you get that early first. That alone could be worth more than Kelce.

Getting a first round pick is nice but you'd be giving up the current TE1 to have 2 raw rookies. I think I would hold for now.

If his team is stacked, I might do it simply because your window to win is likely to start in a year or two. Adding OJ and whoever from that early 2018 1st to Carr, Dak, Gurley, Freeman, Cook, Robinson, Cooper, Williams, Doctson, Martavis, Engram is a good core for later. He might win this season, but you need to decide when and how you're going to win. Worry about you, not about him.

That's an overpay for Kelce unless you're a TE away from really competing.

If you can get an early 1st, Howard AND a 2nd for Kelce, I'd do that pretty easily.

Agree that it's good value for Kelce, but as Petrolbomber points out it more than likely hurts you in 2017.

If you're looking to re-tool your squad, I'd take that deal. If you think you've got a shot to compete I'd probably hold. You already added a shot of youth at TE with Engram.

I might be the biggest advocate for Kelce that there is. He is the starting TE for every team that I own. I was ALL-IN on him coming out of college and think his best years are still ahead.

Having said all of that...
If you're going to trade him, this is the exact type of deal you should be getting in return. (Not Olsen and a 2nd like on the other thread today).

You would have to be very patient with Howard and you'd have to be a team not in full contention mode (unless you had another top 6 or 7 scoring TE rostered). If that's the case - this is a good deal.

Same here. I like Kelce, but I'd easily take the Howard side. He seems like a stud TE in the making himself.

Hard to pass up the value. Kelce is a STUD and I'm not fully sold on OJ Howard making a huge difference in the passing game, at least for the first year or two. Your team seems like it's between competing and rebuilding, so I'd make the trade easily.
Team 1
12-team, 0.5 PPR, SuperFlex, TE Premium (+0.5 PPR) | 1QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1TE, 3FLEX, 1SF

QB: Hurts, Herbert, Cousins, Purdy
RB: Taylor, Barkley, Swift, Mixon, N.Harris, Hunt, Dobbins
WR: Jefferson, Adams, Metcalf, Godwin, Ridley, Lockett, Cooks
TE: Kittle, Njoku, Gesicki

Team 2
12-team, PPR | 1QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1TE, 2FLEX

QB: Wilson, Jones
RB: Robinson, Gibbs, Mixon, Sanders, R. White
WR: Lamb, Godwin, Lockett, Addison, D. Johnson, Meyers, Campbell, R. Moore
TE: Kincaid, Dulcich, Fant

Agreed with most posts. If you want to compete in 2017 you'll need to make another move to get a vet TE but this is too much value to pass up.
12 Team 0.5 PPR. 25 man roster. Start 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 2 Flex.
QB - Russell Wilson, Matt Stafford
RB - Leondard Fournette, Christian McCaffrey, Jamaal Williams, Chris Carson, CJ Prosise
WR - Keenan Allen, Davante Adams, Tyreek Hill, Mike Williams, Kenny Golladay, Chirs Godwin, Keelan Cole, Quincy Enunwa
TE - Zach Ertz, Eric Ebron, Austin Seferian-Jenkins

2018 Picks - 1.01, 2.04

16 Team 0.5 PPR. 20 man roster. Start 1 QB, 1 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 2 Flex.
QB - Marcus Mariota, Trevor Siemian
RB - Leonard Fournette, Dalvin Cook, Jamaal Williams, Alex Collins
WR - AJ Green, TY Hilton, Donte Moncrief, Davante Adams, Will Fuller, Malcolm Mitchell, Kenny Golladay
TE - Austin Hooper, Austin Seferian-Jenkins, George Kittle

2018 Picks - None

You seem like you have a team that can compete now. Trading Kelce would definitely lessen your chances as Howard will take some time to get going as do most TE's, 3 years+. Kelce is going to have a big season with Maclin gone. But that would be a good haul. Get him to throw in Parker. So Kelce, 2018 second for OJ, 2018 first, Parker. $$$
12 Team (2014 Champ, 2016 2nd, 2021 Champ) 1.0 PPR, 1.5 TE, Superflex, Start 9, 1-2 QB, 2-4 RB, 3-4 WR, 1-3 TE

QB - J. Hurts, M. Stafford, K. Cousins
RB - S. Barkley, D. Cook, E. Elliot, T. Pollard, A. Mattison
WR - D. Adams, DK Metcalf, A. Cooper, C. Ridley, R. Anderson, C. Davis, J. Jones
TE - M. Andrews, G. Kittle, M. Cox
