What's too much for Antonio Brown?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

What's too much for Antonio Brown?

Postby mclilj » Wed Jul 26, 2017 11:19 am

For my team what's too much to pay for him.

I'm discussing a package that is built around Devonta Freeman. I have a chance to ship Dalvin Cook for a 2019 1st + Willie Snead/ Fitz to another owner which I'm far from sold on. That first would give me some ammo to help out, is Devonta + a 2019 1st + marginal comp too much? Having reservations about shipping Dalvin but if i can get AB out of it... this is non-PPR

Maybe I have Freeman valued higher than most, but if he signs a contract soon it mean's Coleman's days are numbered and replacement level RBS are much harder to come by than WRs. What would you say is fair comp then? Freeman + what?

I don't like the dalvin trade for you, but I do like the AB trade that you proposed above (overall a win for you). Are you sure the owner would accept that deal for AB though? Wouldn't want to make the first trade and be stuck with it if the AB owner doesn't accept or changes his mind.

First, nice team. I think that you are one more stud WR from multiple championships.

When I look at your RBs I think that you can afford to move Freeman (I think Gurley comes back big this year.) So maybe something like Freeman, Williams (too bad his stock has fallen lately), and '19 1st might get it done. But I think you may need to add one more piece to get him.

Possibly look at someone else other than Brown? I think Hopkins is a nice buy low right now that is going to bounce back...he could be had much cheaper.

I agree that I'd rather buy Hopkins than Brown but the same owner has em both (and OBJ gahhh) and is only entertaining moving Brown. thanks for the compliment, I hope you're right about Gurley I invested my hopes and dreams in him and he burned me last year.

Don't like the Cook trade either. Your offer for AB is pretty light.

Agree. I would try Freeman, Williams and a 1st as another poster mentioned. Or maybe swap in Doctson instead of Williams as he might have more perceived value right now with Williams' injury concerns.

Not a close offer for AB. AB is a league winner this yr, if you want him, you'd have to pay a premium.

A more appropriate initial offer is something like: Freeman, (Doctson or M-will), Bryant, and the 2019 1st

TBH tho, in a 8 team league, your squad is likely two or more pieces away from being a top contender, and you'd be better off trying to get somewhat lesser, and slightly younger assets than AB to fill those roles if you want to make a run. You'd have to sell off too many pieces that you need.

If this were my squad, I'd try and snag some underrated upside plays, to pair with Bryant, like: Alshon, KBenj, Watkins, Allen. They'll all be about half the price of AB, and then you can fill your starting spots with decent depth.

Do you really think AB is worth that much? This is not ppr so I'm giving up my top rb who has been RB1 and RB 6 in standard scoring the last 2 seasons plus 2 good players and a first? That's too steep for me in non ppr. I don't think I'm that far off from competing either if Gurley bounces back.

I agree with the others. Don't like the Cook trade at all for you, and think you're too light on your offer for AB. I like Freeman a lot, but I'd need two significant pieces with him to move Antonio Brown. AB has averaged 120 rec/1579 yds/11 tds over the last four seasons. He's an uber-stud.

I think Freeman and Cook would be a better offer than Freeman and some random 2019 1st.
