Trade for Gronk

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Trade for Gronk

Postby BeeziBad » Thu Jul 13, 2017 11:23 pm

So this just came across my inbox for team in sig...

"OJ Howard and Diggs(mine) for Gronk(his) and what?"

Now, i know i don't need TE help, but i've made it known that my goal is to win the title in 2017. I could trade Gronk for another top piece. He's got Marlon Mack, Jameison Crowder, Devante Parker, Rawls, corey davis, corey coleman, kevin white and several '18 firsts.

Do I leave this alone or pursue it? If i pursue, who should be added, and what should i do next?

1. Solid team. You're already in championship contention as you stand now. (I dont' do IDP, but even the top names look solid)
2. I would look to try and pair him with Crowder, Parker, Rawls, or one of the 1sts. Davis would probably be too expensive, and I'm not sold on White/Coleman (If you are, you can go for them too) It would be an overpay on his end, but if he is leaving it open, I'd start a little higher than even, and work your way down. A healthy Gronk will outperform both of those guys, so if he's willing to add something to it (Injury discount??!!!?) I'd take advantage!

Looking at your team, Diggs doesn't stand as much of a chance to even play for you, but Gronk can push you to a championship when added to all of your other studs. The value is on the Diggs side long term, but that is a price you can afford to pay with your team easily and is a game winning move here imo.

I think getting Gronk solidifies your team, especially if reed were to miss time.

I agree with everything that has been said so far...Gronk would definitely put you over the top and you're deep enough at wr to loose Diggs.

If the owner is willingly open to including ANY of those pieces, jump on it before he has a change of heart. Otherwise, have him throw you a 1st and call it a day...

I think the owner would be borderline insane to include a talent like Parker or Crowder in that deal. Even if he throws you Mack, you jump all over it, say thank you, and ride your way to the title

I would rather have Diggs and Howard. Reed's concussion history and Gronks chronic injury history would bother me. For my team I would rather keep Reed and have Howard for my future. It seems like you are trading away some nice young pieces to improve your teams back up tight end position.

I would be wary of giving up two young assets like that. Your team is already stacked for this year so I would rather keep the young talent around so you can continually replenish your roster and extend your championship window. Nonetheless, if he's willing to give you a young asset in addition to Gronk then that's a different story. I would consider Gronk + a high 1st, Crowder, or Parker (I'm assuming he won't include Davis).

I'd only do this deal if he gave you someone like Parker. That's who I would shoot for.

I'd want Coleman, Parker, Crowder, 2018 1st in order.

Thanks for the input guys, the guy actually had a change of heart and decided he doesn't want diggs anymore, and I don't want to throw in Sammy. So no trade...yet...it's a win either way so it's all good.

If you can get a top asset like Gronk for Howard and Diggs then i would definitely do it. I'd look for Crowder or Parker (or a first) in return if he is willing. Like someone already said, you can then flip Gronk if you so choose. With the youth on your team already i'm not concerned that you will be leveraging the future...but let's also remember that the #1 goal is to win championships, go all in!

I feel the same about Gronk. I moved him in 1 league for Njoku and a 2018 1st. I felt if I could move Gronk this year and get Howard or Njoku + a good young WR or a 1st I'd do it. So this deal is similar to mine. Gronk is a monster yes and always looks good on paper in July but if he's not available for the fantasy playoffs what good is he? The window for cashing him out for a huge gain won't be much longer. I personally think I caught a team who felt he was a piece away but 1 injury and that pick is gonna end up top 5.
