Super Flex QB Trade Question

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Super Flex QB Trade Question

Postby Sisyphus » Wed Jun 21, 2017 9:13 am

This is for Team 2 in sig.

I've been offered Andrew Luck for my Tyrod Taylor, a 2nd and 2 1sts. (One of which is a lock for being the 1.01 -- I know because it's mine and my team is a garbage fire).

Context: I took over an orphan last season and stocked up on 2018 picks. I also traded for Tyrod Taylor and feel that he's generally undervalued.

I am a big fan of Luck but also of Tyrod (these are my starters on my superflex team). Tyrod is definitely undervalued and I would not pay this much for the upgrade. I'm not sure about your scoring system but last year these two were the #4 and #7 QBs (or #5 and #8 by ppg). This is a considerable overpay. Based on perception, I'd possibly consider removing your likely 1.01 and making the counter (Tyrod/1st/2nd)
If you can't leave at least a 20% tip, you can't afford to eat out.

That's a whole lot for Luck, and I have him as the 1.01 in SF start-ups. The 1.01 next year alone will have a ton of value with the QBs likely coming out. And I agree with you and Skip, Tyrod is very underrated right now. If you're in a rebuild, don't put all your eggs in one basket. You need as many assets as you can get.

If your in this deep of a rebuild then you shouldn't give up all of these assets for one. Luck isn't old but he's a guy that should be on a contending roster. You need to get more draft pick not less in your situation.

Your team needs a lot of work to be competitive. I would echo what everyone has said and keep the pieces. While I like Tyrod, I don't know about his long term status in the league. I would look to see if the Dalton owner would swap the two. I would even add a small piece to get it done. I would also look to sell high on Ty Montgomery, Ameer Abdullah and Paul Perkins if you can get good pieces back. See if the Fournette owner will give you a 3rd for Ivory. There's gotta be better options on the waiver than guys like Turbin, Dunbar, Vereen, CAP, Karlos and some of your TEs.

I would not trade all of that capital away for Luck. Use your picks to fill other holes, either by trade or draft, and pick up another replacement level starting QB.

Keep Tyrod and the picks. Tyrod is a solid qb and gets no love.

I do like Luck much more. But your team needs a big talent influx. So I'd hold your picks and keep building your roster.
