Antonio Brown Trade

Just ended an inaugural 12 team IDP salary auction last night. Today a trade involving Antonio Brown went down.

Team A gives: Brandon Marshall (1 year $7 mil salary)/'18 3rd/'19 3rd
Team B gives: Antonio Brown (3 years $17 mil salary)
*$167 mil cap

Both teams had plenty of cap space at the end of the auction. Team A is the commish. Am I souring over this for nothing or do I have a right to be upset? I understand that each owner should be able to manage their team how they see fit but I do feel the commissioners are held to a higher standard. Thoughts?

You should be upset...That is a really terrible trade. Is team B a rookie to dynasty? Along with a friend of the commish?

I believe it's a rookie to dynasty. I'm almost positive not a friend. Team B also signed Eli to a 4 year deal and spent a bunch on CB's which aren't worth much. It was actually a running joke during the auction. I feel like it was just taking advantage of an inexperienced owner which was very easy to see during the auction.

I agree with what Honey Badgers said. Send him here. That said, don't consider leaving the league. If the owner is new to dynasty, and especially salary cap, the best way to learn is by making horrible mistakes (provided they do learn). I still laugh at my early mistakes, but they were also very powerful lessons.

Fair enough. I should focus more on helping the inexperienced owner by directing him to helpful forums rather than cause a fit with the commish

Definitely a terrible trade but it was an auction...and no one apparently thought AB was worth that much on the open market (salary wise). Kind of makes it better....right? Not really I guess. Terrible trade.

I nearly lost my wit over a newbie taking Ted Ginn over guys like Dez, DT, DeMarco, 1.9 rook pick in a dispersal draft so I would more than likely leave this league over something like that lmao (don't take my advice)

Lol I forgot to mention this guy also drafted Watson at 1.01 in our rookie draft. Actually traded up from 3 to get him. Granted it's superflex but c'mon.
