You giving in a 2020 1st and a 3rd and a 4th just makes this very much in your partner's favor. He doesn't lose out too much and gets to upgrade his Howard into Ezekiel freaking Elliot

My concern here was accepting Kevin White as the WR in the trade. Howard will be a top 5 RB but he's enough behind Zeke that there needed to be more value coming back.

I like the deal for you. Keep Howard. I think you got a steal. Zeke is good but so is Howard. 2 2018 1sts plus White is great value.

Yeah, I do too, but you win some you lose some. If the '18 1sts hit, you'll be fine. If they don't, I think you'll regret this one.

Thanks for the responses. Seems like an interesting debate. I know that Elliott was great last year, but the entire Cowboys team was great last year. A lot better than anyone ever expected. I think there will be some minor regression, plus that stuff about him with the domestic violence had me concerned and I figured I would cash out while I could. I know, nothing is probably going to happen with that, but still.

Also, the Cowboys lost two OL last year. I know Collins is going to move to OT, and Cooper will slide into the guard spot, which is fine. But still a little different.

Also, I tried getting a top tier WR that I liked a lot for Zeke (Evans, Julio, Cooper) everyone wanted way too much, they wanted something like Zeke + 1.2 + 2.5 for Evans or Julio, and there was no chance Id do that given Zeke's current ADP.

EDIT: I might have the opportunity to move Howard + 2.5 for Gurley. The Gurley owner is thinking it over. That would make me feel even better about this deal, personally

As a Howard and Gurley owner, I value Howard higher than Gurley. Howard's was elite, and I'm pretty sure he had more than 100 yards in every game he had more than 18 carries. I know he is getting a rookie QB, and they lost Alshon, but his situation was poor last year and he performed well. Also, I still think the bears offense is better than the Rams. Buying low on Gurley would be Howard for Gurley +.

I got a few outside opinions before taking the deal and they all said that it was worth doing. Interesting to see thats not the case here. Oh well. Can't win them all.

My goal was to turn Howard plus a 2nd or something else into one of Melvin Gordon, Todd Gurley or Devonta Freeman if possible.

I'm confused as to why you would trade away Zeke for a rb you are then looking to trade for someone else....and none of them are in Zekes category.

Even if my team had no picks for the next 3 years and badly needed WR help?

I think White will be at least a WR3 and if he can stay healthy he has the tools be a WR2.. He was taken early in his draft class for a reason..

I couldn't have made that trade... maybe I missed to boat on Jordan Howard but I don't believe in him or value him any more than I do Jay Ajayi. Therefore, I think you sold short.

I would NOT trade Howard for Gurley especially if your adding to your side!!! No way Jose! Keep Howard and attempt to make a good trade or two to make up for this one. I wouldn't have worried about the domestic violence stuff and don't consider this "cashing out" I would just keep Howard he's just as good as Gurley Gordon or Freeman

Still think it's bad. I would bet you could have gotten a better WR/RB combo for Zeke. I see your reasoning for doing it, though, and can't knock you for following a vision.
