Sammy Watkins steal?

Recently made a deal in one of my dynasty leagues for Watkins. The owner has continually stated how frustrated he is with Watkins so I thought, why not try and buy low. Now I'm not sure what exactly the value of Sammy Watkins is but I wanna see everybody's thoughts on this trade. It's PPR scoring

I sent: Golden Tate + 1.07

I received: Sammy Watkins + 2017 early 2nd

I'm not a Watkins fan, but that's an absolute STEAL!

You'd have to add another mid-1st to the Tate said to make it equal. About a 1.06.

I'd sell Watkins, though. I love the guy, but his lingering injuries and team wavering on his future, lack of a solid QB... I don't like it. If he has another bad year, his value gets cut in half. If he's a good year, his value won't really go up farther than it already is.

I like the Sammy side and would take it every time...but another injury to Sammy and I could see the other side of this deal being more attractive.

Looks great now if he stays healthy. However one more bad year and it may back fire. Buffalo is talking about not picking up his 5th year option. They are starting to steer away from his injuries. However he's worth so much more than this. I wouldn't pay more than this. But you'll see people giving far more. I like it!

Buffalo not considering picking up his option is a non-issue. The cost of the 5th year option is almost as much as the franchise tag for players that went top 10, so any former top 10 pick that is not already a pro-bowler should have this considered.

Not to mention, nothing could be better for his value than getting out of Buffalo. I would take another injury riddled season if it accomplished that by 2018

Tate is undervalued and a nice buy at his going rate but this is a huge win getting Watkins. How is it you don't know which 2nd round pick this is?

Easy win from a value perspective. It wouldn't be a shock to see Tate outperform Watkins again this year though.

There are plenty of concerns with Watkins, but the whole idea of BUF possibly not picking up his 5th year option isn't one of them. As others have mentioned, his 5th year option will likely cost the team a similar amount as the franchise tag would. Plus we've all complained about how bad his situation is in BUF for years, so why now is it a concern or a bad thing if Watkins gets out of town after this year? Injuries or not, there will be plenty of teams lined up to sign Watkins if the opportunity presets itself , and most of them would provide a better fantasy situation for Sammy.
