John Brown

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

John Brown

Postby Chefrob1027 » Sun Mar 26, 2017 11:10 am

Alright, this is for team 1 in my sig. I'm looking at going after John Brown in this league to add a veteran to my WR core if our when one of my top 3 get injured. I like him to make a big comeback this season with no Floyd to contend with. Fitz is..... Well...... Fitz is OLD and Brown really had a chance to be the man this season.
Anyway I'm curious about his perceived value at the moment. After an injury /down year, I'm looking to grab him for cheap. I have no picks this season but love my team thus far. Other players Of note he has are Dixon, Tevin and Tyreek Hill that I would possibly be interested in making a package for. But my main question is what is a reasonable offer for Brown without moving in reverse to acquire him? Thanks fellas, as always I appreciate your time and effort.

It's it worth the upside of either to acquire him? His owner has shown an affinity for White but again I'm concerned it would be a move in the wrong direction. I like both White and Perrimen but both obnoxiously seem to be injuries waiting to happen.

Like others have said I would try offering Perriman. I think hold onto Abdullah and White because they offer more upside but you also don't want to be stuck holding the back on all three. The best thing to do is try and mitigate your risk here. I would look at which of the three you are most willing to part with and offer that.

TBH I am not sold on him outproducing JJ Nelson. He isn't much bigger and JJ offers ridiculous quickness. I don't see a ton of disparity between the two. If you're a believer, go for it. That tied with Carson's age I think this is more of a lateral move.

I like targeting another WR, I'd see what you can land for Abdullah

Talented kid, but with sickle cell it is tough to count on him. I would hold if I had him, but not a guy I would go after.

If he is showing a fondness for White, maybe you could pull a Abdullah and White for T. Coleman and Brown.

I was going to mention something regarding this too. I think there's going to be some real value and upside with the non-Fitz ARI WRs this year, but I think it's just as likely it's with JJ Nelson as it is Brown. I've always had an affinity for John Brown, but with cost factored in I'd rather invest in Nelson.

As for OP, I'd definitely keep Abdullah/White. I could see trading Perriman for Brown, but it's close.

I'd offer Perriman or White for Brown+. Maybe you can get a 2nd, which would be nice since you don't have any picks. I also like the idea of packaging Abdullah with Perriman or White for Brown and Coleman, but I doubt you can pull that one off.

JB has been adjusting to some health challenges it appears. There is no doubt he has jets and Arians loyalty. I would be cautious in pursuit. This is just my opinion, but I think his best days pre-diagnosis have passed. He is at best a wr 2-3 at this point.

I prefer the upside of Kevin White. Perryman has never been someone I'm into, so I'd rather take Brown. I also think Brown is a better WR than Nelson, assuming healthy.
