This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Tough 1.01 trade

Postby schiewerma21 » Sat Mar 25, 2017 4:36 pm

Contract league in sig 2. Total cap is $300. I have about $20 available after all those picks.

(The 1.01) will be $15/4
For
Michael Thomas $10/3 Devante freeman $6/1 (then I don't own him anymore) and a 2018 first.

Which side do you like here.

Thomas seems about equal to 1.1 on his own, so seems like a big win for that side.

Do you have any option to retain guys after their contract runs out (keep 1 guy with expired contract, etc)?

Even without that, Thomas + 2018 1st + one year rental of Freeman seems like a pretty good haul for 1.01.

I think I would do that trade especially with the cap numbers and your ability to still be flexible in the draft with all your picks.
12 tm PPR (QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, WR, TE, FLEX, D, K)
QB: Goff, Stafford, J Allen, Foles
RB: Kamara, Guice, J White, Drake, Dar Williams (KC)
WR: Juju, C Davis, Edelman, Fuller, R Anderson, Goodwin, Stills, J Brown, Z Jones, Ty Williams, Allison, Chark, J Gordon, Treadwell
TE: Howard, Njoku, Cook
Picks: 1.8, 1.9, 2.8, 2.9, 3.8, 3.9, 4.9

That's a lot for the 1.01. I'd take that pretty easily I think.

How much will it cost to re-sign Freeman? On the surface, easy accept, but if Freeman is one and done then it's not such an easy decision.

Sell that pick !!! You can still get a couple rbs with those other picks you have and Freeman will fill in for the year they might need to develop. It's an easy win for you. That team is set up to be a monster.

I understand what you're saying here, but still think it's an easy call. Worst case basis he can't resign Freeman, and he gets a top 5 ppr RB for a year, along with Thomas (a top 15 start up player) and an '18 1st. He could also try to flip Freeman before the deadline if he feels he won't be able to resign him.

He could lose Freeman while getting little to no long term contributions. Meanwhile, the 1st round pick may end up being a low selection and an eventual bust. Yes Thomas is a great get and it is probably an accept but just wanted to provide some different insight since everyone ran to "post reply" and went nuts with the instant accept and exclamation points.

Wow. Sell 1.01 now. This might be an example where the value you're getting for 1.01 won't increase after the draft, this might be the best you can get for it.
