Gordon Offer

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Which would you rather have given team 2 in sig?

Gordon, Gronk, Cobb, Meredith

Gordon Offer

Postby ADrunkenCaveman » Fri Jan 27, 2017 7:10 am

Team 2 in sig. $1000 salary cap.

I Give:
Gordon $47.25 2yrs left (League rules if he has another top 10 season he jumps up to $150/yr)
Cobb $261 0yrs left*
Meredith $1 0 yrs left*
Gronk $163.22 0 yrs left*

I Get:
C Coleman $45 2 yrs left
AJG $290 0 yrs left*
Ebron $44.10 0 yrs left*

*If extended salaries increase by 5% (290 X 1.05 = 304.5) and can put up to a 4 year contract on players.
*If not extended goes into an auction at which the current owner can match or pass on the highest bid to retain/lose player.

This move would free up $92.47 in cap room as well as giving me another top WR.
I need another WR to contend because of how stacked the #1 overall team is in the league.
What do you think?

I also have an offer to get Rudolph from a guy so I would have both Rudolph and Ebron to play matchups

I would do it! Gronk is to injury prone, Gordon is going to regress! You have to up and coming backs in Henry and Coleman! I would do it

Anyone else? I only have a couple hours before the offer expires. Originally didn't think it was close, but after sending him multiple offers and getting either declined or he hasn't touched them I feel like this might be the best I can get. I don't want to trade simply because I am wanting to trade and move Gronk/Gordon either though.

AJG side pretty easily for me. I think the value is better and you're saving cap space.

I voted for the AJG side as I think you finally got the values good. I see it like this:

Gronk, Meredith = AJG
Cobb = Coleman
Gordon = Ebron and cap relief

With that said I'm not sure I think this is a good trade for what you are trying to accomplish. If you are looking to contend then this isn't the type of deal that you should do. You are essentially trading 2 high end starters plus two role players for two starters. Personally I think your current starting lineup is better as is then it would be with this trade and and likely you are making the team you are trading with a lot better by making the move.
Brady
Hyde, Coleman
Evans, AJG, Cooks
Ebron
Coleman
vs.
Brady
Gordon, Hyde
Evans, Cooks, Cobb
Gronk
Coleman/Meredith

I like what your starting lineup looks like now more then what it would look with this trade. So unless that cap relief will give you enough cap space to chase after a big piece or two during free agency and assuming that some big name players won't get extended then I'd probably pass.

Also like the Green side of this. Makes a lot of sense for your team.

I wouldn't do this. Yes AJG is the best piece, given Gronk's uncertainty with injuries lately, but the real problem is Cobb here, he costs almost as much as Green. I think Gronk and Gordon and obviously Meredith are steals compared to the pricing on Green and Cobb. I would instead try to sell Cobb for whatever you can or just let his contract expire and use all that money to buy a better player or match Cobb's price in free agency bidding cause my guess is he will go for probably half of the $261 you are paying now, then use the rest to spend on depth to fill out your roster. Just my 2 cents from what I understand of your league.
