This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

L. Green Value in Picks

Postby kmbryant09 » Fri Jan 13, 2017 8:12 am

What is Ladarius Green's value in 2017 draft picks? As an owner (assume he's your TE #2 or #3), what pick would it take for you to give him up?

I've held him for 2.5 years now waiting for his breakout, but now his concussion / injury history scares me. What's he worth?

I am not giving him up for anything less than an early 2nd. I know many think that is too high but I don't care, his talent is worth the injury risk when you got a chance to see him on the field with Ben.

Dennis Pitta outperformed this colossal bust last season. I'm in a lot of leagues and there's ZERO interest in Green.

The hard truth is that he's viewed as waiver wire fodder by everyone except his current owners (and those current owners all want to get rid of him). You'd be lucky to get a late 4th.

Lol...Dennis Pitta also outperformed Gronk and Jordan Reed...good example!

He is either a hold or a buy if you can get him for a 3rd.

If you can get late second, I'd do that. I think he's a bust but if you have roster space, not sure I'd sell much less, just in case

It's a perfect example. Going into the 2016 season, Pitta (just like Green) was known more for his significant injury history than his on-field performance.

Ladarius Green has been in the league since 2012 and has never had a 40 catch season. He's recorded more than 19 catches in an NFL season just ONCE. Good luck with that big trade.

Do you think the owners that dumped Pitta for free last year are happy? So if you are saying going into 2016 Pitta was known as an injury bust and he proved otherwise, why can't Green do the same?

And thanks, but don't need any luck on any big trade since I am not selling him anyway.

You said "I am not giving him up for anything less than an early 2nd."

But would you pay that much today for Dennis Pitta? Pitta's asking price is a 6th or 7th round pick (at best). For Pitta, it was a fluky TE performance from an aging, chronically injured player. To Pitta's credit, he at least had one good NFL season in 2012 (61-669-7) under his belt. L Green has done next to nothing in the NFL and likely never will.

I'm betting that 100% of potential trade partners won't pay anywhere near a 2nd rounder for Green -- he's a proven bust. Makes more sense to spend a 7th on a guy like Pitta or Ryan Griffin. Heck, Gary Barnidge had a 1000-yard season and might be easily acquirable for a 6th.
