Two big trades, how did I do??

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Two big trades, how did I do??

Postby jnappy » Wed Nov 09, 2016 3:26 pm

Team 3 in sig.

I've been sending out a bunch of trades today, and two of them got accepted. We get two keepers each year, and we forfeit the pick for the round the player we choose to keep was drafted, even if he wasn't drafted by us. I'll indicate the round drafted for each player in each trade, because I think it matters a lot in one of them. If the player was not drafted, they are not eligible to be kept. Please tell me how I did on each deal!

Trade 1:
I give:
AB (1st)
Kelley (FA)
I get:
MG (6th)
Snead (8th)

Trade 2:
I give:
Crowder (FA)
Montgomery (FA)
I get:
Diggs (9th)
Ivory (8th)

Ouch, not a fan of trade 1 at all. That's the highest i've ever seen someone buy Melvin.

I like the 2nd trade. Crowder is good but Diggs is quite a bit more valuable than him and I don't think Ty's role will stay as big as it is not once they have a viable option at RB.

Even if I can keep him while only forfeiting a 6th round pick?

I really don't like either trade. I would rather have A Brown if it was my squad. But I can see the reasoning behind wanting Gordon in the 6th round. You just have to hope his value does not dry up. As it seems like he's been really reliant on TD's in a lot of these games. If those dry up what does his value look like then? As for the 2nd trade I don't really see Diggs as a great option in a keep only 2 league. I don't love the trade for this year either. As Montgomery is a lot better asset than Ivory. While Crowder has been playing well and the Vikings are sinking.

if you only get 2 keepers, i would much prefer AB...even in the first..but as long as you are happy with it

i don't understand the 2nd trade, since you won't be keeping either player
team 1 -start QB RB 2WR TE 2RB/WR 1WR/TE
qbs=5pt tds wr/te=1 ppr rbs=.5ppr all get .25ppc
Watson, Brady, Mills
Ekeler, Hunt, Carson/Penny, DForeman, Mitchell, CPat, Kyren, Ford, KHarris
Cooper, sutton, Chase, Shepard, Atwell, Schwartz, Wan'Dale, Austin III
Gesicki, Engram, Hooper, Woods
team 2 -start QB 2RB 3WR TE 2Flex K D
Cousins, Stafford
DH JT, Ekeler, Kylin Hill, Herbert, KHarris, Chandler
Hopkins, Diggs, Adams, Godwin, McLaurin, Callaway, DPJ, Robby Anderson, Schwartz, Pierce, Wan'Dale, Doubs
Kelce, Andrews, Jacob Harris

You keep mg in the 6th & diggs in the 9th. Yeah I like the trade for next year. target a rookie rb. I'm not a fan of keeping my 1st in a keeper league. I'd much rather late rounds.

I have a friend who got like arob in the 6th & dj in the 8th since he was a FA in a keeper. He keeps a top picks & goes in every yr with high assets for a low cost. It's a legit strategy, it costs you a little but it could pay off bigtime.

I don't like the first trade at all. You could have got a lot more value for AB. Second one isn't bad, I feel like you won that one. But not by enough to make up for the AB trade.
