Jordan Reed

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Jordan Reed

Postby Titanium Miss » Wed Nov 02, 2016 7:34 am

I am wanting to trade Jordan Reed away because I have Kelce, and I guess worried about Reed's concussions. My team is a contender currently, should I just hold him (the production is such a game changer), or : I looked at teams in need of a TE, and one of them has Davante Adams - is that too low or a good target for me to aim for? Team #1 in sig. Thanks for any help!

I would aim higher, he's such a tough one to consider with the injury issues. If I owned I would be floating offers but seeking something better than Adams. Honestly if I had Adams and even if Reed got hurt again I would flip Adams for Reed.

You could gamble and hope he stays healthy for a couple more and then you could flip him for a lot more if he puts together 2-3 health games. I would probably float some offers if I owned him anywhere though for more than Adams. Especially with bad TE production around the league this year you may find a team trying to make a run that thinks it's worth the risk. If I were contending and TE needy I would consider a late 1st for him.

Way too low, shop him around and you'll get more, even if it's not to a TE-needy team since Reed is an upgrade on almost every TE. Before this season, I traded Reed for Diggs, Green, and a 1st.
Format - 12-team, keep forever, 0.5 PPR (1.0 PPR for TE), starts QB/2RB/2WR/TE/FLEX/K
QB: Russ, Darnold, Jones
RB: Mixon, Gibson, Henry, Carson, Tarik (IR), Darrynton Evans, Gio Bernard, Rashaad Penny, Deejay Dallas
WR: Keenan, Odell, Robert Woods, Robby Anderson, TY Hilton, John Brown, Ruggs, Tyler Johnson, Tyron Johnson
TE: Henry, Howard, Cook, Everett, Trautman

Oh god, I wish it had been AJ! It was Ladarius, but yeah, still a solid deal.

If I am a contending team, there is no way I am moving Reed and suffering thru starting Kelce. You pretty much kill your chances by doing that.

Agreed. Wait for now, but you should be able to get more than someone selling high on Adams.

I feel like the move makes your team worse. Reed is an elite player when he is on the field, and youre lucky enough to have a great backup in Kelce should he need to miss time. I like your situation at a particularly scarce position. If you need to sell i'd aim much higher in light of those facts.

I'd take Adams. Reed is a 1/2 a hit away from ending his career. Adams is putting it all together on the field and has looked really good IMO

I liked capitalizing on this mindset this offseason and as a result I own Reed on nearly every one of my teams. That "1/2 hit" happened a couple weeks ago and he's back on the field.

There is still a lot that we don't know about concussions and the presumption that each hit makes things worse hasn't even been proven. What can be documented is that each successive injury MAY make recovery time longer. While additional concussions could ultimately have him leave the game, we don't know for sure. In the meantime, Reed is an absolute stud...if an owner is going to move him, it should be for someone a lot better than Adams.

Glad you passed, if I'm a contender I would be happy with just keeping Reed and taking my chances with another concussion.

There is a lot we know about concussions, and volume and connection to future health problems is proven. You may want to study up on CTE, and the risks of playing in general.

Thanks, I didn't realize I hadn't done my research already and I was just making things up as I went along. Don't be so condescending.
