Phillip Rivers pick value

36 team - 3 copies of each player IDP, PPR league. Start 10 Offense / 10 defense.

My team has been hit hard by injuries. I have Mariota, Rivers and Teddy at QB. A contending team asked what I would want for Rivers. He does not have any young prospects I am interested in at this point, but has all his 2017 draft picks.

I'm actually happy to hold onto Rivers for the next 3 years as I think he is a pretty good QB overall, but since he asked, it got me to thinking what the right value would be. I have no 1st rounders next year.

To me, I would need a 2017 first (most likely late, he is 4-1) plus something. However, QB's tend to be a little undervalued in start 1 leagues..............so wanted some second opinions on value.

I think a 1st is a tall order in a 1qb and essentially a 12 team league, plus PPR devalues QB. I think a 2nd is about right, but if I were you I'd want a young player to build around. It wouldn't hurt to just hold Rivers either, the due always produces.

Yep, start 1. (below needs to add up to 10)

Number of Starting QBs: 1
Number of Starting RBs: 2-4
Number of Starting WRs: 3-5
Number of Starting TEs: 1-3
Number of Starting PKs: 1

Almost no way you are receiving 1st+ value from an older QB. Rivers is a reliable lower end QB1 but without the upside of the elite QBs. Agree with 2nd round type value. I would consider trading for an underperforming younger QB you like.

thanks guys, that is basically what I was thinking, but would rather hold onto him at this point unless I can squeeze more out that his going rate.
