I am considering offering Marvin Jones for Keenan Allen.

Is this a fair offer? Too much? Too little?

I don't even like Keenan Allen but that offer is laughable.

Really depends if that team needs a WR to stay competitive, but I would add a pick to soften the sticker shock

Not laughable at all. The offseason pickup narrative on Jones is that he's flashing as the Lions best WR and could become the WR1 in Detroit. This potentially is a pretty valuable spot. Week 1 supports the narrative. If I'm a Keenan owner, I'd have to really think about it, but if you believe Jones trajectory is pointing up, I'd probably rather have Jones at this point, especially with Keenan's growing injury history.

If he had a re-occurring injury I'd be more worried. The spleen thing was super random and just as non predictive as the ACL. It sucks he got hurt, but he's a baller and young.

I think Marvin Jones is a solid number 2 and not irrelevant by any means, but I'm still taking Allen right now over Marvin every time based on the body of work (no pun intended) I've seen from Allen.

I don't think I'll drop Allen down any tiers long-term. He's still very young.

About the only movement he'll have from me is down to the bottom of whichever tier I had him in IF my team is competing (i.e., I'll take guys like Alshon, Watkins, and Cooks over him in most cases whereas beforehand I may have preferred Allen).

I definitely wont be taking any WR2-3 types like Jones/Jordy/Larry/Jarvis/Matthews/etc over him. Id rather find a cheaper WR2-3 elsewhere and stash Allen at the end of my bench/IR and roll out with an extra WR1 next year when he's healthy.

I don't think it's insulting offer. It's timing things right. Some may jump on it depending on their roster and situation. Detroit looks to have a good pass game and people could be excited about Jones.

Value wise Allen is still higher, but that's not to say this deal can't happen in some instances. Something to be said about time value and injury history.

I traded D Parker, my WR4 and T Coleman (hate to let him go) for Keenan today.

Even if I was high on M Jones I would get another player and round swap out of it
