Should I make this trade?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Should I make this trade?

Postby general mills » Fri Jul 01, 2016 6:25 am

12 team ppr league
We start 1 QB 2-3 RB 3-5 WR 1-2 TE K DEF

I give Eli Manning & 2017 1st

I get DGB & T. Taylor

If I do this trade I would have to drop someone. What pick should I ask for instead of Taylor?

My team
QB Eli, Tannehill, Bridgewater
RB Ivory, Gordon, Freeman, M. Jones, J. White, A. Collins, D. Lasco
WR Watkins, Hurns, S. Johnson, Quick, R. Randle, Doctson, Carroo, Strong, Conley, Perriman
TE ASJ, Higbee

Keep the first. I don't love DGB.

Keep the first, I don't see much difference between Taylor and Eli. Dgb isn't worth what could be an early first to me.

I would also keep the 1st and not make the deal since I'm not a fan of DGB. However, if you are a DGB guy and your set on making the deal I would keep Tyrod and drop Lasco. Taylor offers a much safer ceiling than either Tannehill or Bridgewater. He was the 9th highest scoring qb on a weekly basis last year if you throw Geno's one game out of the mix. His rushing numbers and highly efficient passing make him very much a Russell Wilson light.

This was my thinking, I wouldn't mind gambling with a later 1st. I had the 1.4 this year and think my team could easily be back in that same situation. Moving Eli for anything in this league has been difficult.

My problem with Taylor it doesn't seem they believe in him. I think the coaching staff may but it doesn't seem the management does.

Given the need to start so many WRs, I'd be willing to move the 2017 1st for DGB and moving Eli for Taylor is a no brainer. You have 2-3 players who are easy cuts (Lasco, Strong, Higbee)
If you can't leave at least a 20% tip, you can't afford to eat out.

Good point I pretty much start at least 4 WRs. My TEs are too weak to start 2.

Then keep Eli he is a serviceable QB1 and should be for another 3+ years.

It doesn't look like you'll be contending this year. I'd keep the 2017 1st. The value on those picks is only rising.

count me as rather keeping a '17 1st over DGB. As far as Eli...has some serious weapons this year...I would keep Eli over Taylor, as well.

I would do that trade for DGB. It's not like you'll get anyone with any more upside with that 2017 pick. Plus your team is not terrible. I could see you being middle of the pack next year. See if the other owner will throw in a 2017 2nd.

Shortly after the first two responses the owner cancelled the trade
