Best RB Rookies based on landing spots
Best RB Rookies based on landing spots
So I have picks 1.2-1.4 and am taking Doctson and Treadwell. My thought pre-draft was to take Henry with the 1.4, but not I'm questioning if that is the right move. For team 2 in sig, I need some RB help out of this draft, but I think drafting a back at 4 is early based on their landing spots. Which of these guys should I go after and how late could I trade back to get them?
Derrick Henry, TEN
CJ Procise, SEA
Alex Collins, SEA
Davontae Booker, DEN
Kenneth Dixon, BAL
Jordan Howard, CHI
Paul Perkins, NYG
Kenyan Drake, MIA
I think Booker would be a good handcuff to CJA, and Perkins could be a steal considering the Ginats don't have much for backs, But I''m interested in seeing what the wisdom of this draft has to say about this RB class.
All advice welcome!!!

not so sure booker is a "handcuff" or cja i think he gets a decent chunk of those carries maybe even a 60-40 split

Re: Best RB Rookies based on landing spots
yep, you should take doctson and treadwell and then trade 1.4 for a 2nd (or late 1st) and 2017 1st. or a player and 2017 1st. it does seem too early for a RB.

Re: Best RB Rookies based on landing spots
The rbs are so tricky and exactly why in one league where the guy took henry 1.02 because we do it pre draft to make draft day way more exciting is so upset right now.
Honeslty I think the safest back is Dixon. Many people, myself included liked him pre draft (no shares by the way) and he goes into a good situation where he has a real opportunity to start.
And I guy I do own that I truly believe in is procise. The fourth rb off the board and a day two pick (which we all know statistically works out much better) I think Rawls is more hurt than what has been led on and I think Alex Collins is a sack of potatoes. I really believe that will be procises job come 2017 at latest.
All that being said, I think your crazy if you take a fourth round draft pick (Dixon) at 1.04. I also think 1.04 is far too high for procise as he certainly hasn't earned that role yet and has a lot to learn at the position.
Let's be real... 1.04 is an abysmal place to be this year. It's Elliot than its Treadwell and Doctson (don't care which order you have them)
Then your looking at taking a Browns player at 1.04? Michael Thomas? One of these reach rbs? It's a ton of uncertainty after the top 3. Trade out

im saying i wouldnt bank on cja to be a good source of consistent points. but if you look to trade him i doubt you get a good offer. id try adding booker in the late 1st if you could but mostly im just staying away from this situation altogetherhudini33 wrote:So are you saying that I should Take Booker? I think Wendell Smallwood deserves a look landing in Philly if that's the sole criteria we're basing this off of, doubt he ever amounts to much though. I'm looking forward to scooping up the Arkansas RBs late because of their respective landing spots.

Re: Best RB Rookies based on landing spots
In terms of immediate opportunity, I'd say C.J. Prosise. He has very good receiving chops and should be Seattle's 3rd down back immediately.
Long-term, I'd say Derrick Henry has the best shot in a growing offense and improving line.
