How did I do on these rebuild trades?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

How did I do on these rebuild trades?

Postby diesel » Thu Nov 19, 2015 1:44 pm

Just took over an orphan that needs A LOT of work. Wondering peoples thoughts on the 2 trades I have made so far.

Trade 1: Darren McFadden + Rishard Matthews + TJ Yates for 2016 1st & 2016 3rd (likely 1.10-1.16 range)

Trade 2: Kenny Stills + Brandon Coleman for 2016 2nd & 2016 4th (likely 2.10-2.16 range)

Felt like I had to sell McFadden ASAP before losing his value if he gets hurt.

Any thoughts would be great!

The first trade is pretty solid value. Not a fan of the second trade though. I'd rather have the two young WRs than the two dice rolls.
Both are 12-team 1QB PPR dynasties

I wasn't really a fan of Stills, as long as he is in MIA, he will be stuck behind Landry and most likely Parker in the pecking order so thats why I wanted to move him.

I don't see Coleman or Stills ever really having value so I prefer the late 2nd to both.

First trade is a definite win, the second can go either way.

Good luck on the rebuild, I took over a team before this season (unfortunately after the draft, the previous owner messed that up as well) so I know the struggle. This forum is a great sounding board.

I like trade #1 for sure.. totally agree is best to deal McFadden while you can because the bottom could fall out quickly

Don't hate trade #2 because I'm not a huge fan of Stills in MIA and not a fan of Coleman at all.. but I'd like the trade more if it was for 2.10 pick in a 12 team. The value is pretty fair, because Stills/Coleman are pretty worthless at this point, but tts basically the 3.2 - 3.8 pick in a 12 team.. and the odds of finding a better guy than Stills there is going to be tough, but its worth a gamble I suppose

Stills for a 2nd isn't bad value. It was the Coleman for a 4th part that I didn't like. Coleman hasn't progressed as much as I'd hoped this year, but he has show brief flashes. He has the frame of a massive red zone threat, and I'd still prefer his potential upside over a 4th rounder in a 16-team draft.

What should I expect to get in return for a guy like Desean Jackson or Joique Bell?

My Rookie Draft only has four rounds (maybe all are made equal?) but one thing I need to remember is, rarely are you going to find someone in that 4th round as that player is probably FA scraps once the year begins.

You shouldn't have received a 1st RD for DMC straight-up so the deal seems okay with the inclusion of Matthews and the 3rd. As far as TJ Yates, the other person must be desperate for 8 points a week hah.

I personally thought Stills' situation would have improved going to Miami (Opportunity/Targets, not QB) but while it has gotten better since Wk1, it has been a disappointment. That 4th RD still not doing me justice.
