Good value for Matt Jones?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Good value for Matt Jones?

Postby vejy » Thu Oct 29, 2015 3:28 am

I've been offered brashad perrimen plus a second rounder next year for Jones and a fourth. I also have a possibility of obtaining cooks for jones plus but that deal is less likely and will take a long time to develop. Should I hold out or take this deal or hold onto Jones?

I sold him for a first after he had a big game a few weeks ago. If you've got the roster space i'd hang onto him until the offseason, as providing morris doesn't re-sign you can probably sell him for a lot more just before the draft when he's looking like he'll be the starter. Not seen any of Perriman so cant really comment on that trade

Wow a first for him? That's pretty solid! I hadn't thought of what happens after the season with alf. Thanks for the quick read on the situation!

I would hold to Jones either to work the deal for Cooks or use the value rise he gonna have with Alfred Morris hitting FA.
I don't like the deal with Perriman but I'm low on him and high (since NFL draft) on Jones.

I think it is a pretty fair deal and would probably accept if it was me. Definitely understand the thoughts above about keeping Jones, but I think Perriman will be the guy in Baltimore next year and I have a hard time trusting anybody in Washington.

Thanks everyone for the responses! I've basically gotten the whole range of thoughts that were already floating around in my head! Does anyone have a thought about just how much the bump in value with Alf gone really becomes? Like it seems silly to hold out to get a first when I could have perrimen and a second right?

He basically becomes the Alf of the past 2-3 years (before this year) IMO when Alf is gone. Obviously ceiling is higher than that if he gets the passing game work but IMO it won't pan out like that. I would rather have perrimen and the 2nd than a 1st for sure. If you meant hold out to get Perrimen AND a 1st then I think it can't hurt to ask but that the 1st offer is very fair for you.

Trading Jones for Perriman is already great value. On top of that you're trading a 4th for a second. Don't hold out for a first, just take the deal. Jones has looked better at times than I would have imagined but Perriman is the better prospect.
