trade advice: AP/Julio for Alshonn/hill?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

trade advice: AP/Julio for Alshonn/hill?

Postby Favrezilla » Sat Sep 12, 2015 6:37 am

so i was in the finals last year and am probably poised for a reasonably long run at the 'chip - but have the habit of over-managing my teams; however at the same time over-managing is how i managed to piece together a phenomenal team

should i stay pat with my current squad (team-1 below) or should i consider trying to move a guy like Alshonn for Julio, think id probably have to give up some RBs as well. the other guy has ODB, CObb, Julio and AP but not much if anything after that.

thx guys

well i think i would have to sweeten the pot with $$$ and a pick, but i assume he would take no less than that. in a dynasty league im definitely seeing hill as more value than AP (maybe not this season but after 2016 the future with him is murky at best and a huge falloff for value ala marshawn) and julio only had 24pts more than alshonn, but yea i see this as a fairly close trade.

also noticing you have julio and ap just now lol! :boohoo:

I think the trade looks pretty close.
Hill>ap
Julio>alshon
Clearly if the guy is a contender he should have zero interest in your proposal. But if he is rebuilding your offer is a great one.

im just lower on hill then most... he looked great last year... and we will def know more this year about him, but I think people tend to forget how good gio was when he was healthy.. i get that ap is much older... but i still think he has more value and i would expect much more then hill and alshon if i was going to give up ap and Julio
but that's just one opinion

me too - why i dont mind trading Hill (and keeping Gio) - i think most people ive talked to or drafts ive seeen this year he's still flying off the board in the first round so the value is there - as long as my trade partner values him there obv

I'll take AP/Julio

If you offered up Hill, Gio, and Alshon for AP and Julio, you might have a better chance.

Julio is the best piece in the group, so I'd like that side better. Hill has more long term value, but AP could be a huge reason why you win.

Something to keep in mind, the vikings are already down their 2 best linemen. Sullivan could be back at mid season, but who knows.

i would want hill and alshon both just for julio alone. your deal yes makes you a ton better but it wont come close to being accepted

While you might want it you have to be pretty low on both Hill and Alshon and very high on Julio to trade those 2 for Julio. I can see "wanting" it but trading 2 top 10 players at their position for Julio/Dez is pretty extreme in anything other than 8 man leagues with short starting lineups.
For me Hill is probably worth a 1st more than AP and Julio is worth a 1st more than Alshon...however AP/Julio should be a better combo play this year assuming AP can stay healthy after a year off from football. Jeffery and Hill are younger and not far from the top of their position rankings

me saying i would want alshon/hill for julio is just saying what it would take for me to deal julio. julio is the top talent or 1a with dez. gotta overpay to get him. and im not very down on alshon just dont think hill is nearly what alot of ppl on dlf think he is. ap = hill for me even if ap only plays for 2 more years. i can understand ppl saying no to alshon/hill for julio just fine but thats the cost imo to bother downgrading

So we agree then.
If you think Hill is only worth a mid-late 1st we are saying the same thing.
Personally I think Hill is worth much more than AP. Everyone believes AP is going to come out and tear it up and while I believe it is possible it is also a very real possibility that he suffers nagging injuries that slow him down after a year off late in his HOF career. Not the kind of situation I trade a 22/23 year old RB with an RB1 season under his belt as a part-time player
