10 teams, Sflex, non-ppr, start Q/2R/3W/T/SF/F
Give- Carr, KBenjamin, Buck Allen, Matt Jones, 2016 1st
Get- PManning, Marshall, Foster, 2016 2nd
Team:
Rodgers, Cam, Cutler, Kap, Carr, Geno, Tyrod, Mannion
Charles, McCoy, Miller, JStew, Ajayi, Jones, Allen, Trent, Tate, Polk, Rawls, Gus
Julio, Calvin, Allen, KBenjamin, Floyd, Randle, Crabs, Quick, Nicks, DDavis
Ertz, Ebron, Wright
Thoughts? I think being able to plug Manning in as my QB2 significantly helps my chances this year. That and Marshall should make a solid WR3/4. Foster could really push the team over the edge come playoff time, as long as he gets healthy.
Moving young guys for vets
Re: Moving young guys for vets
It's a all in move and would work out for you if Foster comes back and can play at a high level. I think this deal would put you in contention this year and possibly next year as well, depending on Peyton and Foster.

I wouldn't do it. No need to overpay for Manning if you already have Rogers, IMO.

You think it's an overpay? I'm curious why you think so? I do as well a bit, but not so much of a if-it-gets-me-a-Championship-that-I-would-regret-it-type overpay.

Also, it's Superflex. Not sure if you caught that.perkinsrooster wrote:I wouldn't do it. No need to overpay for Manning if you already have Rogers, IMO.

I'd do it. I'm also not particular high on the players you'd be giving up, outside of Benjamin - and after his ACL - I wouldn't trade for him unless he came cheap.
I was in a similar position and made a deal to get Peyton in my superflex league this offseason. Already had Rodgers and Tannehill, but Rodgers + Peyton could net you two QBs in the top 5 - which is almost an automatic win.
Someone queue Herm Edwards for me...

I didn't catch that but it makes sense now. I thought at first it must be 2QB league and when it wasn't that's why I said no deal.bjorklunde wrote:Also, it's Superflex. Not sure if you caught that.perkinsrooster wrote:I wouldn't do it. No need to overpay for Manning if you already have Rogers, IMO.

Re: Moving young guys for vets
This was my thought as well. I like Cam, but losing KB hurts him a bit. Replacing KB with Marshall/Allen and putting Manning in the lineup over Cam covers 2 spots. I'm hesitant mostly because of Foster and the 1st. If Foster proves to be useless, I lose. Also, I thought I had a strong team last year and traded away my 1st, which ended up being #3 overall. Fantasy is a fickle mistress. I've made a lot of moves since- acquiring Calvin, McCoy, Charles, KB, etc. so the team is stronger this year, but sh!it happens!edm1990 wrote:Rodgers + Peyton could net you two QBs in the top 5 - which is almost an automatic win.
Re: Moving young guys for vets
Traded my 1st last season in a deal to get Dez (got a 2nd back). Then I get AP news and more Josh Gordon news - and then my team doesn't look so good. I end up giving the 2 overall and get the 16 overall. Was able to make additional moves to acquire picks so I'm not kicking myself, but you never know what can happen.bjorklunde wrote:This was my thought as well. I think Foster will be back by fantasy playoffs - how effective and usage may depend on how well the Texans are doing. But I can see him having a couple more seasons of at least a RB2, injuries of course a concern for him. I also see BMarsh having a couple more seasons of being solid.
If Peyton is top 5 this season, you win the trade. Foster/BMarsh have a little tread left. I'd take the proven vets to make that Championship run.
If you do go for Peyton, I'd look to move one of your lesser QBs. Rodgers + Cam clearly is your long term. May try to deal Cutler? Kap? One of those guys should get you decent return - maybe more picks?
